Description
I was looking at some DOTD concept art and noticed some interesting stuff in the art for Malefor's lair and the floating islands. On the floor of some art there's some murals of two dragons focused around a circular symbol, and on one of them (the piece showing the broken floor on stage 2 of Malefor's bossfight) it looks like the two are joined together like an amphisbaena. Or catdog.

While I don't think any of the environmental designs for DOTD have any actual deep lore or thought behind them like the previous two games, I found the idea of two deities that are conjoined siblings interesting, especially to represent light and dark like the murals seem to depict, so I did some a quick drawing while the ideas were still fresh.

The Siblings of Light and Dark Aether.

In dragon folklore it is said that the two powerful beings became split in the middle, the energy that escaped their severed bodies giving dragonkind their elements.

The sibling of Darkness would become frightened and angry, thrashing around in a blind rage, while the sibling of Light was calm but determined, trying to soothe and protect their other half.

While the two became seperated, their love for eachother is what kept them together.

I've been wanting to come up with theology and creation deities for the TLOS world for a while, but everything I thought up felt too obvious, boring or similar to something else. I wanted to try something different, and I'm happy to finally have something.
