I've only played Sword of Mana (for the GBA), and a little bit of Legend of Mana which I LOVED. So... yeah.
I really, really like this. I love coming into contact with someone who knows how to use color.

No wonder you loved Legend of Mana if you dig colorful pieces since all the backgrounds is a fantastic piece by itself! 
Haha digital coloring is not difficult at all when you know how to play with layer modes

Yeah, I loved the backgrounds in Legend of Mana... Ugh. I need to play that game again. It's so amazing...
And I loved the character designs. I think that's what got me into it. That guy, um... Shinichi Kameoda or something. I think he did the official artwork for Legend of Mana (and Sword of Mana, and a few others, I think). He's a really amazing artist. Except he did the artwork for this Starsign game same for the DS which... didn't look very good at all.

The coloring is beautiful, as colorful as any other Mana game.
My favorite is the Legend of Mana on the Playstation. The scenery and locations in that game were brilliant.

I've seen this type of painting style before, except I don't know how the effect is achieved (you know, what layer modes were used, etc.). Also, the acidic yet somewhat earthy colors make me happy too.

Of all the squaresoft series, I love the Mana series more than any because it has the freedom to run around and slash things in real time. 
I was surprised this pic is yours at first. It's something new and refreshing. Don't be afraid to add some dark shades. Strong contrast makes great artworks.
