If Evolution was redone in the 'original' style (like this amazing example), it would be worth a second watch, I feel that Evolution being done as a live action really limited what they could do, especially with having to pay for all the extra equipment, makeup, sets etc needed the production of the show, not only that, the acting/character portrail seemed a bit off and forced as well, if only there were more people like you who could capture the style of Code Lyoko as well as you do, you'd be able to make Evolution shine brighter than the original in no time

What exactly is wrong with Evolution? I've only just started watching Code Lyoko again since when I was like 6 (so no spoilers please) but I've heard a lot of hate for Evolution? Is it only because it is in live action?

The fact is Evolution has many problems. At first, they changed a lot of things without giving a reason at all. Then every idea of the "new" episodes are ideas recycled from the prior episodes, but much less well used. And at last there is just no reason for a new season! It's no spoiler I tell you XANA is back. No, it's not. But if XANA's back after we defeated it, what tells us we will defeat it again, and it will be dead? What promise us XANA won't be back for some blurred reason? If XANA is not dead once, maybe he will never be?
Evolution destroyed something that was important in Code Lyoko : the death of the ennemy. With that not certain anymore, the LGW are just a stupid band of kids who liberated Evil on Earth with no control on it.

As a fan that started since the beginning, Evolution seems so out of touch with the original series, allot of characters seem a bit out of... well, character, many changes were made to primary and secondary characters, and it seems to take all the small mistakes of seasons 1-4 and amplify them by allot in Evolution. That's why some fans go so far as to consider the true continuation of the series in the novels (which are much better) and just pretend that Evolution is not canon.

Man... I really miss Code Lyoko... And since Evolution Aired on my country I was really pissed off!! Well, sure, it was a great plot, but...
It's just mean to suddenly change this... Oh, well! I got accostumied to it! I only complain to Odd's hair colour and Aelita's hair in general. It's just... Blergh. X(P But, you know... Sigh...
IT'S F'IN GREAAAAAAAAT! I love it, especially Aelita's ans Odd's clothes and how you drew William's hairstyle! Also, thank you SO much for this! I've been trying to draw Odd's new hairstyle for two weeks, and now I finnally managed to do it! Thanks, girl!
Just a tip: Evolution is as loyal to the series as a live-action can be. Like so, the actors must look like the original character as much as possible. I had a hard time figuring out Odd was Odd (was that a pun of sorts?) because of the hair...
BUTT! (it was intended to be like that.) I saw a clip of bloopers from the series and guess what? Odd does have a purple streak of hair on the front. It's just difficult to see, because his hair is a tiny little bit too dark in shade and the shade of purple itself doesn't help much... I hope you'll add it to the picture! THEN it will have the 0.01% to reach 100% of perfect Lyokoness...
