Oh and I also work with a low opacity (ca 20%) and work on the darkest parts quite long. This way they don't look too "harsh".

I had a photo reference, so I tried picking colours resembling the reference. But when doing own artworks it's important to not just darken the shade of colour your using, but to pick another (similiar) colour on the coulor-wheel. Also warm colours forbrighter partsand cooler tones for shadows make a picture really pop. Keep it up! I'm also still learning a lot about digital art 😄😊
