At first, I was confused if this was even a picture, since the colors used have such little variation. Luckily I was able to notice after a few seconds that the pink was the girl's hair and the black was the tree.
I love how you did the dripping of blood in this picture along with the flower petals that look like tear drops in a way, as I believe the tree is crying, unless that petal is supposed to be his mouth.
The main problem is that it's hard to tell what some of the small parts of the image and even the big parts of the image are even after looking at it for awhile. I can't tell whether the white polygon floating above the girl is a crown or light coming out of the dark cloud in the back. However, it's nice to see how you made the tree curve towards the girl and made a somewhat contrast between how the two of the characters look.

The petal is supposed to be a tear, the tree creature is crying indeed.
The shape the tear kind of didn't turn out how I wanted it to be though ;w; but that's the struggle of traditional art, some mistakes are hard to fix afterwards orz
Yea I get what you mean with the unclearness especially with the crown, that's because I didn't put that much detail in every single aspect in this painting ;o;
Thanks for taking your time to write this comment though~

It is a beautiful piece of art. The girl's hair is so bright I'm thinking of her as a light in the darkness. And is that a crown floating over her head? I can't tell exactly so I'm guessing =/ I love the dress style. If it's a small girl good shoe choice but if it's like a teenager not sure about the clothes choices... now that I say that you probably made her with out any age really in mind. I like the flowers that are scattered around. It actually reminds me of a show I watched a while ago and they had a drawing in this style.

The crown is floating indeed, is it unclear to see because the crown is too close to her head? or is it the unclearness of the crown's shape? Since I do agree on the unclearness
Well I'm someone who wears sweet lolita fashion regulary and I'm 20, I wear shoes like these in my daily life :') -> clobbaonline.com/web_images/se…
It's all a matter of taste~
I did draw her without an age in mind yes, but I don't think these clothes are bound to an age.
The clothes are pretty much blank, only the silhouette is visible but the silhouette is actually highly inspired on the lolita fashion silhouette.

It's because most of the time crowns are ON the persons head! It was quite clear but I don't like assuming.

Well usually you don't have people with hair that is lightening up and usually you don't have tree creatures showing people a message

Overall, this is a really good piece. The colors contrast nicely, the lack of expression on the girl gives an eerie quality that definitely fits in in this piece, and you keep to a specific palette for the entire picture. However, the placement of (what appears to be) the pink petals does cause some confusion, for me at least, when it comes to the....tree monster(?). Specifically the pink petal that appears under its eye. At first it looked as if it was the mouth of the tree, and then a tear, and now a distraction. If you were able to remove it or simply MOVE it, it would definitely help the viewer see how the tree's supposed to look. Another suggestion. The white..what appears to be a floating white crown above the girl's head. That is the suggestion. It's difficult to understand what it is due to lack of definition and unsure placement. But with those few minor things moved and adjusted, it's a stunning piece and one I am sure many will appreciate and enjoy looking at in the future. Would make a lovely cover for a book, if you ask me.

Thanks for your critique and I certainly agree with your mentioned points
Other people also mentioned the tear. I'm thinking of doing an edit of this piece and perhaps removing the tear since it didn't end up looking very good

I really like the simple type of style you chose for this picture since it reminds me a lot of fairytale illustrations in books or the black faced people used in flashbacks in the Revolutionary Girl Utena Anime. The composition with the overall dark tone and the contrasting light pink hair also adds a really nice mood to this image.
One thing that would have improved the image a bit would be if the glowing orbs closer to the foreground weren't placed so close to the border of the image since they lead the eye outside. The problematic ones are those at the left corner since they don't lead to another element in the composition that drags the viewer back in.
Otherwise your image does a great job at guiding the viewer to the important parts of the image.
Another way that this painting could be improved is to change the way the black creature holds the love letter. Right now it looks as if he's doesn't put too much value on this item since it seems that he only grasps it very loosely.
A way to place more importance on it would be to let the creature hold it with both arms or to change the way the hand is drawn.
Another thing that I like about this picture is how the girl's hair is also used as a light source since the pink bounce light adds a nice flair to the image and distracts from the blood that's running down the roots, so you only notice it on a second glance. Furthermore the partially streaky colouring of the sky and some other parts of the image doesn't distract too much from the motive and fit's in with the overall style (if you had gone for a cleaner style it would have looked a lot more out of place). Overall it's a really harmonious image with a great composition and mood.

But then the pink version haha
Most people think she resembles the main character child of light
But when it comes to actual shapes and design I agree she looks more like sapphire :')

This looks suspiciously like either watercolor or special markers. Regardless whatever's made with it's gorgeous! To create an glowing effect with software is easy but to make it by traditional means shows talent. Feel praised! ^^
Aside from my love for all that's creepy the meaning, or at least the message I get from this, is very nice. Even darker creatures can be nice and curiosity should always win over fright and terror.
One tip from me though: some lines are a bit blurry, especially in the background. You can create a nice 3D effect simply by re-tracing them with the same color you used on the surroundings.

I am amazed by how the pink girl can still result equal in balance with the black...spirit?...even if she's not even half of the picture and all the rest is black and submerged in darkness. The red paper is the perfect junction point of the two "natures"

I think that's because of the pink ish reflections on the spirit guy and the and the pink flower ish thingies that kinda come from the pink girl ;u;
