It's been a year since I convetred back in LOTR fandom and, I'm still not bored. It looks like some things just didn't grow old.
I've been drawing this picture slowly the entire last week. It has started as a little more complicated scene, but I really have no time for all that mouse-work and I really wanted to post something this month, so it became a simple portrait in the end ^^ Lithien, doing her usual guarding duties and re-growing her hair (hm, it's finally 100% confirmed that she is a brunette
Done first on paper, then in Sai with a mouse, infinite number of layers and lots of patience

My only ongoing writing project in LOTR fandom is "Journey of Oaths"Β archiveofourown.org/works/4978β¦ - if you're interested in checking it out please visit my AO3 profile, since the story there is edited and way better than the one posted here.
Even though Lithien's story do span "The Hobbit" time I have no time to write it with full time job and uni on my schedule. It will be referred to in my fanfic though.

I guess, I just color and then blend/erase until the result is to my liking - I just added more shades this time, looking at the reference photo^^ Not much thinking on my part

Well, yes :/ I was completely without internet connection during summer holidays and I haven't drawn anything for a very long time... I feel like my dream of becoming good artist is somehow shattered. I don't have enough time and motivation to practice, and when I just doodle something, it's so bad it makes me cry... So it's like never ending circle. -___-

That may sound funny, but I really started to enjoy drawing when I actually understood that I won't become professional either ^^' Let's face it - my "skills" have little to do with talent, but a lot with me being stubborn and keep practicing
So, pick up that pencil already - it's not like you cannot scramble 15 minutes a day, right?
The fact that something doesn't look like we want it to, it's not an excuse ^^
