May I ask what did you do about the sword, I am wishing to cosplay Gin but I don't want to carry a metal sword around a convention, if that makes sense.

yeah, I understand your problem. I actually had my metalsword with me at the con. no one told me to take it away or anything^^ I just used it carefullly, only removed it from the sheath for photoshoots and stuff.
If you're worried, you can always use a wodden one^^

actually he was pretty simple to make, I mean there's a lot of other cosplayers doing waaaay more advanced one than just a shinigami XD
