yes indeed. The aesthetics of assemblage/collage
are very powerful and relevant to much of modern art,
and one of my fav schools of art....
I also am much attracted to the aesthetics of interiors,

thanks sid ! mixed-media and collage has definitely become my favourite. i love to use old materials.. papers, cardboard etc.. and re-use them.. give them a new life in one of my creations.. it is so inspiring to work with all of this

I have always gotten good results
when doing the same... and, the process is addictive,Β
and rewarding as you suggest...I think thatΒ
since we have such complete control of
the results, its even more satisfying than
using any type of brush/pencil/wet/digital media...

i agree sid.. only.. do we have control ? i don't think so.. at least i don't. i don't want control at all actually... i just start... using various papers that "feel right" .. for whatever it is i am doing.. the collage develops as i go along.. not thinking about what i am doing.. just going with the flow. that is always how i work.. collage, paintings.. even for digital art that is how it works. to quote marc chagall Β - βIf I create from the heart, nearly everything works; if from the head, almost nothing.β that is very true for me. if i start using my head... thinking about what i am doing... i usually don't like the results at all.. and start again from scratch .Β
