i like how the petals disintegrates outwards from the rose, like water. the black background seems smoky, i cant tell if that is the texture of waves, or something else but it seems like a vortex almost.
the contrast between dark red and black draws your eye towards the center where you cant perceive the depths very clearly, you obviously chose the right title for the piece, it is quite dark and slightly disconcerting for a rose.
