Description
PLEASE READ THIS!!!!This is the tutorial I put together, I hope it explains things well enough. I'm going to take all your thanks as granted, so PLEASE ONLY REPLY IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION, IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND SOMETHING, KEEP READING THE COMMENTS, MAYBE IT WILL COME UP.
The best fabrics to use are felt for the hair, but for the head and body, a softer, and NON-FRAYING fabric would be better to use, because felt is difficult to sew, and even more difficult to paint. I suggest suedecloth for the body/head, check your fabric stores if they have it.
I also suggest you plan the whole plush out in your head before you even start, so you know kind of what you're doing. Also, go over the tutorial before hand, just so you kind of get what you'll be getting yourself into ^^'
Other than that, please enjoy!

Ah. Thanks I'm definatley going to try and do this but my question is: Do you hand sew or use the machine? The reason I ask this is because I don't have a sewing machine.

For small plushies, hand sewing is your best bet. I also dislike using sewing machines, so I usually make my plushies by hand

Body parts. First out of two, and second out of two parts.

I want to make a Inuzuka Kiba (from Naruto) plushie, so I can bring to the Sac Anime con, cause I'm gonna be Kiba, and I was wondering if you could recommend any detailed tutorials on how to make plushies, or sewing tips for plushies, etc?
Thanks so much!

I would suggest asking for advice at the UFOcatcher forum, there's a community of plushie artists with various levels of experience there, I'm sure they'll be happy to help you out ^^

Hi, do you know of any other way of detailing a plushie with hair? like more realistic hair rather than felt shapes? other plush makers do this sometimes but i cant contact them, so im wondering if you knwo how. (: cause im thinking of a jack sparrow plushie, but using felt cut out shapes wouldnt be as nice in this case. (;
hope to hear from you soon. thanks for the tutorial!

For little plushies like in this tutorial, this method is best, but for larger plushies, artists have found numberous ways to make hair.
For a Jack Sparrow plushie, I would perhaps suggest yarn?
Some fabrics like Velboa are quite nice, they can be braided and still made look good... I suggest trial and error. If you can't get the piece of hair right, instead of wasting fabric, take a piece of paper towel and cut that first, to see if it fits what you're seeing in your head, then use that as a stencil for your actual hair fabric.
I hope that helps, I usually just wing it with my plushie hair XD

Gah, that's great! I'll have to give that a try, however I do actually have a real question ^.^ Would you happen to know of somewhere that I can get detailed plushie-making tips/instructions online? I probably should look on my own, but I though that maybe you'd know of a good site or set of instrutions. Sorry if I'm being annoying! >.< <3

I would suggest reading through the posts in the custom plushie section at the UFO Catcher forum ^^ If there's something that isn't answered there, you could always post your question^^
