HEY GUYS! 8DBeen a while, eh? So, This is a quick update before I leave on my trip.... so yeah.
I colored in 's work (original:[link] ) And she is an AWESOME artist. I totally reccomend you go look at her AWESOME AKATSUKI ART! 8DD

So yeah, I really liked how I colored this one. I used my birthday sharpies and my new skin tone copic marker to color this, and my favorite part about it is Itachi's purple jacket... ;D

XDD Sasori's jacket looks like shit. It was supposed to be all grey but I didn't have a darker/ lighter color for the folds so I did green...

Kyaa! What a rockin' picture! I love how you used a medley of colors, rather than the standard black-and-red outfits.

Well, I have different colors, thats how I do it. You put the light colors down first, then the darker ones ontop. Like, for example, Itachi's jacket. I put the light purple in the places that I though needed light hitting it, then I put the medium purple everwhere, and added the dark purple for shadows! ;D
Thats basically it for ALL the colors. I couldn't shade so well on a few, cause I didn't have the right colors to do the darks and liights though. THIS CALLS FOR A TRIP TO THE ART STORE! I need to get four copic colors....

Huh. That sounds...difficult. I prefer just coloring in everything the base color first, and then shading and lighting things after it's all been colored. It's hard to do so in real life, but at least I have some computer software that can do the trick.
Wow, you use Copic markers? Aren't those uber-expensive? I only have one, (Dark purple) and that cost like...five dollars.

I actually only have ONE copic, the skin tone, and I got it for Christmas form my friend. I'm planning on buying like, one at a time, so I don't realize the massive amount of money I'm spending, lol.

Ah, sharpies. God bless those little dealies. I use them to draw kanji on my Vans. Even though I only have two pairs of them.
Still, you're going to be spending a fair chunk of change if you want to buy every single one. There are countless, y'know.

Huh. I'd use a colored pencil for that, because then you can have more control over how light or dark its applied.

But... Yeah... I like markers....
This may seem weird... but I get such satisfaction when I draw with them. It makes me forget whey I ever wanted to color on the computer....
I think an accomplished traditional artist is greater than an accomplished computer artists, because when they get off the computer, the things they do on the computer aren't available to them, and their art usually.... is worse I guess...

I fully understand where you're coming from. If I'm going to digitally draw something, I always draw it out beforehand on paper, ink out the lines, and then color it in. I prefer to use Photoshop and a tablet due to the fact that I can take advantage of the Layers tool, utilize the opacity meter, and have a full range of colors at my disposal. The only problem is it's much harder just to draw onto the Tablet, so a lot of my "100% digital" art doesn't look that much good.
But that's just my take on the matter.

I probably would have a different point of view if I could actually do art on the computer, lol, 'cause some of those digital artists out there are FANTASTIC.

The only way I've actually improved is by using my school's Tablets, as well as my own. Because you go to an art school, surely they have at least one, right?

Computer graphics are a lot of fun, but pretty hard at first. But knowing you, I have a feeling you'll catch on quickly.
