This is probably completely lost on you unless you've seen Disney's Hercules recently...Watch this- it will make more sense-

Basically I was rewatching that movie recently and got the funny image of Percy singing that song. "THAT'S THE GOSPEL TRUTH!"
And I'm sorry Disney, as much as I love you, I HATE that movie. Actually, I take that back. I hate that movie except for Hades and Megara.
In summary I was that little kid in the back row going, "HEY!! HERCULES DOESN'T GET PEGASUS!! HE JUST STOLE BELEPHERON'S RIDE!!!!"
Okay, I'm prejudiced, but I really dislike the movie for reasons beyond the mythology. Namely, Pain and Panic and Bad Musical Syndrome. And CGI!Hydra. *shudders*
But I digress...
Percy Jackson and the Olympians belongs to Rick Riordan and others, not me. And Hercules belongs to Disney.

Lord, that movie was Disney's own personal Greek tragedy. I think I was 16-17 when it came out... and was horrified.

*laughs* Awesome! My (very) young brother and I couldn't agree more. He was so miffed when he watched the movie after reading the Percy Jackson books and looking up the gods and goddesses. XD
("That's wrong!" "They messed that up!" "WHAT?!" "In REAL Greek mythology...")

This is awesome XD When I was little I absolutely LOVED the Hercules movie(Mainly for the music >.> ) but now, a friend of mine wanted to watch it and it made me laugh because now I'm so obsessed with Greek Mythology, all the stuff they changed just seems funny.
Plus, Percy > Hercules!!!

Hercules the mvie and the hero is stupid and over rated. Percy rocks so much louder. Hercules is a backstabber anyway. Erm what was I going to say oh yeah nope do not remeber ok got it, Hercules is a half blood like Percy in Hercules he is a son of Hera and Zeus that is a mistake right?

It's not a mistake it's "Disney-ification." (as my english teacher would say)
The actual story of Hercules is that of an illegitimate child(so yes, a half blood) who becomes a famous hero, but is constantly tested by his father's jealous wife, who drives him to kill his family. To redeem himself and to gain more glory, and something else I'm forgetting(bring his family back?) he does the 12 tasks. Of course when he succeeds his father's wife kills him anyway but all is well when his father saves him and brings him to Olympus. Oh, and let us not forget all the girls he meets on the way...*rolls eyes* Least ways, that's the version I've accepted. Being one of the best known legends it has many variations.
They changed a lot to make it "appropriate." I'm actually ok-ish with the fact they made him the son of Zeus and Hera, and many of the other changes, but for other reasons the movie is weak. (ex: Pain and Panic, bad dialouge, wonky animation)

Kinda of reminds me of my reaction to Tarzan. I disliked the movie but ADORE the soundtrack. (Phil Collins= WIN)
