Description
While I have not played this character in a while I only just recently pulled off a picture of what is one of my all time favorite D&D 4E fighter builds. Kadis Mason, aka Facerip Mason, Bloodbath Mason, Crazy-Ass Mason, Tawse Mason is the whip and scourge tempest fighter I originally made to be the fraternal twin of a garrotte wielding brawler fighter named Damien who I dubbed the "Waterdeep Strangler" because he used to strangle people for a living as a syndicate enforcer and when he killed his boss it became more of a hobby. While Damien is more the quiet and under-spoken type who makes wanted men and occasionally ladies of the night go missing, his sister Kadis is loud, antagonistic, and tends to publicly pick fights and not hide the bloody bodies she leaves behind. She's almost an adrenaline junky serial killer but on her more cool-headed brother's advice she tries to kill people whom law-enforcement will not only not prosecute but pay a bounty for. I find amusing the idea that she might be more feared than her brother, if only because he seems more reasonable.I have not done any new pics in a while. I was working on some graphic designs that I will hopefully get some money for and got a hankering to do some personal work. I decided to try some of the other brushes in the default CS1 pallet and see how it worked. For a first try I'm pretty happy with the results. I will probably try to use more of them in the future so I can get more texture in my works.
Tactically Kadis is one of my favorite characters. She is essentially a melee controller. Most of her powers allow her to do some combination of knocking prone, sliding, and giving various attack penalties. She also has a lot of powers that allow her to make multiple attacks for pretty good damage. Essentially she does things like grab people by the ankles with her whip and give them a road rash or dig bits of metal from her scourge into their flesh and drag them about by it. She's cleared whole battles of minions in a single round without moving with her whips and torn monsters apart in a single round with six attacks from a pair of scourges. She's a lousy primary defender with her total lack of durability related powers but makes a great second defender who can do battlefield control, draw aggro, or lay down damage as the situation calls. For a nearly illiterate and largely ignorant character she has the team tactics of a seasoned commando.

Using whips and scourges allowed me to have almost all of her powers prone and slide with the right magic items and feats. She's more of a pirate (hence the eyepatch) than a Dominatrix (she wounds to kill not to thrill) but the leather armor does not help my argument which is why I deliberately avoided making it black, white, or red leather (which are the colors they use).

OK, but whenever anyone sees this they are going to think bondage at a first glance. Have you seen any of the "Hulk Vs." animated movies?
They use white and red?

I have not seen any of the Hulk Vs movies, though I have read comics with him fighting the FF, Spider Man, and Wolverine.
Sure. White is a stark color and the contrast color to Black. Red is a color that people associate with sexual confidence and is also the color of blood. I've seen plenty of that stuff without once ever searching for it.

Well in the Hulk vs. Wolverine he gets in a fight with Sabertooth and Lady Deathstrike at the same time, and when Lady Deathstrike is digging into his back she gets a little over exicted.
Haha, you have seen more than I have on that front.

Love it. The colour caught my attention right away, then the face lured me in even more. I really like how you drew the eye. Plus the figure is very nicely done. You made her sexy while keeping her outfit/armor practical. That's something that I often have difficulty doing, admittedly.

Thanks. Her face is fairly understated and the eye especially. That was not my idea originally but it looked interesting and I figured I'd just go with it and see how it turned out. My armors tend to be a bit more practical because I used to be a big medieval history buff with friends in the SCA before I got into D&D and the fantasy genre in general. Even though I don't usually draw historically (and physically) accurate armors I still know in the back of my mind how they are supposed to work and I can only get so "creative" with them before some part of my brain starts screaming at me.

the leather body suit seems a bit too superhero-ey.

They wear spandex instead of leather (unless its the movie version).

The clothes seems too.. 'futuristic' for D&D, or FR at least. More in line with Eberron, or something like Shadowrun... enfin.
She look BADASS, though.

Well it is supposed to be leather overlaid with overlapping hardened leather strips attached with leather straps but it is in a stylized rather than realistic artistic style. It does resemble some of the sci-fi armors I've seen that are heavily fantasy themed but strict sci-fi military/police gear should more heavily resemble their modern counterparts, flight suits, space suits, or power armor suits rather than fantasy armors.
She is certainly a piece of work.
