Thoughts rush through my mind,
searching maddeningly for recognition,
but none arrives,
until...

My insides turn cold, body frozen,
in a moment the world screeches to a halt
as my mind grasps the answer.

How, When, Where,
fleetingly passes through my thoughts,
but fade as soon as they came.
"It's ok"
"You can stay here if it gets bad"

My questions don't matter anymore
The ice begins to thaw,
replaced with an ackward sense
of inadequecy,
Finding it foreign to be talking about this
in a neat orderly kitchen,
people laughing just outside the doorway,
while my whole being
is overwelmed by an uneasyness,
a sense of vulnerability,
overwhelmed by the concern and care
in those few words.
