Description EDIT July 4th 2011
----------------------------------
I was bored and decided to take the critiques on this and fix it up.
I removed the awful red paint over on the wings and fixed the bottom of her dress.
There is still a lot to be fixed, but atm I am more satisfied with this.

--------------------------------
I suck at titles

ANYWAYS, this was made for
For their Darkness Angel Contest.

This took close to 3 days to do. I did and re-did the wings ove and over remembering why I stopped doing wings

I am thinking of doing more manips like this. Please let me know what you think.

Oh yeah, time for another critique people!

This is a new one. I don't think I've reviewed a Photoshop picture, or maybe I did, I don't know. But yeah, this is a very cool picture, and a great example of how much fun it is to use Photoshop. If it wasn't for the fact that the woman has wings, I'd say this is just a standard snapshot. It looks great, with no pixilation or line breaks, just solid realism all around.

I do have one grievance though. To be honest, I think the wings would look better if they weren't colored. Please don't hate me, it's just an opinion! But regardless, this is a well done piece.

Thank you for the review. I agree the colouring on the wings could be done a lot better and would look better with out it. Though I did it to help support the contest theme, and I simply lost patience while working on it, something I do need to work on a lot.

No problem. Plus, I used to love using Photoshop. I can't anymore though, I don't have it.

oh yeah, cuz I don't pay cash cash money money I can't make a critique. Pffft! I WILL make a critique and then...I'm gonna post it AHAHAHAHA watcha gonna do now dA??? MWUAHAHAHHAHA
Thus...the critique:
Your getting better and I enjoy it I even made popcorn!
However, for the wings, maybe the color could be blended with the wings a bit better. Like use a layer blending effect thing, like overlay and screen, and play around with the opacity levels. But stay away from the filters, they make you do weird things D:
Anyway, the wings are a bit off perspective-ly, maybe because you used the same wing flipped lol. So iffu notice the eagle in the picture he's kinda facing teh same way as the lady, so maybe using both wings originally woulda looked more natural
I AM NOT DONE YET
Also, the bottom of the dress is flat when it's supposed to kinda flow on the rock lol So uhm you can either use the warp transform thing or uhm... I can't think of somethings else right now sorry LOL
The point is to have fun trying the menus and experiment around. You always have the ctrl+z or ehem excuse me, cmnd+z, if your one of them... And remember to set your history states to OVER 9000!!! Well more like 1000 but HELLO!
And now, have fun hihi

THE END

I know exactly what you're saying. I tried so many blends and etc to make the color blend before giving up. Either it looks odd or too pale. Really it was the fact I just didn't like what I saw no matter what I did. I did try to use the original opposite wing, but after the removal of the eagle head the angle of the curve looked like the wing was folded in a very un-natural way. I was going to change the wings completely to a set that was stretched straight out behind her but I admit to complete laziness and getting bored of this picture. I have a bad habit of starting projects and never finishing them because I am not happy with how its looking.
I decided then to submit and get feedback to make sure what I was unhappy with would be the same as what people would point out. And in this case it is.
I may choose then to re-do this one day but I hardly doubt I will.

And as for using filters and such. This computer is a piece and tends to crap on me A LOT. Remember its using less than a gig of ram!

What I do know I need to work on is small details. I don't know why I struggle drawing in details now when I used to do it all the time. Probably the anti-depressants
