Description
Im actually not posititive what species this is -- when I went to the Central Florida Zoo's Reptile house, I was too inthralled by all the snakes and the large amounts of Pit Vipers that the names blended together. The head is a little hard to find at first, cause it works with the body. But this snake had one heck of a fun nose.
EDIT: I looked up the snakes they have at the zoo and this is a "Rhinoceros Viper"

Quite possible -- there was no defined super lump since it all seemed to be a gradual size change, but at a decent Zoo like this one they dont have to worry about food. XD

XD There were quite a few chubby chunkers in the tanks -- You should have seen their King Cobra! I couldn't get a good picture of it because of the layout of its enclosure, (and it ended up grey against grey stones and caused my camera to unfocus :F) But it was a really powerful looking snake.
Oddly enough, the only constrictors they had were mostly rat snake type snakes. They had three cobras, about ten different species of rattler, and various other types of Pit Viper.

he is a very powerful venomous pit viper. he might be a rhinos x gabby cross. it is a naturally occurring cross in the wild. they LARGE fangs and extremely toxic venom. rhinos and their cousins gabby's (gaboon viper) are spectacular animals. gabby's have the largest fangs in the snake world, they can get as long as 2 inches
beautiful

I did a little research, I think he's a Rhino with a very extra cool nose. He grew extra spikey things. XD
But, the Gaboon-Rhino is a possibility.... Hmmmm....

some of the gabby x rhino crosses are hard to tell if you do not know what you are looking for. you might want to call the zoo and ask for a definite ID

Oh gosh that must have been scary for your mom. o_o
That story gave me the funniest of images although I probably would have screamed at first. x3 The poor snake though, surrounded by scary people. You were it's hero that day.

The poor dear was thinner then a pencil and about as long as one. It was small. But I've handled snakes before (often times saving King Snakes from people who panic and think they are coral and dont want them in their yard. The snake was here first...) and try to know my species and teach others in not fear them, but respect them.
Now, there are species I wont touch.. Basicly anything I look at and go "poooisoious"... Though, I one time carried a coral snake with a snowshovel.. Why we have a snowshovel in florida is beyond me, but its useful for carrying smaller poisonous snakes out of harms way *such as out of our house*, as well as a dustpan. XD

This snake has some real pretty markings and he looks huge!
My mom is scared of snakes, won't go near them. But I love to hold the ones in our sicence lab. They are a pair of ball pythons. ^^

My mom cant stand snakes, not after she accidently stuck her hand in a garder snake hybernation nest and pulled her hand out covered in live snakes when she was little. She tripped and suddenly lots and lots and lots of snakes.
Me, after the first "omg what species are they?!" fear, would have calmed down and recovered quickly -- I found a Ringsnake (Very small, non poisonous species) in my PE locker once -- Opened it up, and suddenly snake turned around in fear going "D8". I took a step back (and the other girls sort of went "EEEE!" and ran away half dressed screaming "SMASH IT! SMASH IT!") and I looked at it for a minute, figured the species out, took the back of one of my chopsticks, pinned the head down, and then took it carefully and carried it outside to safety. XD Poor little thing must have been so frightened.
