In the beginning i wasn't exactly fond of having one in my army. Until i read what buffs he provides. Pretty much immediately i went to the store and bought im in terminator armor!

These are really epic models and paintjob is great! 5 stars and +1 extra because Dreadnoughts are awesome.

Und dabei habe ich für den die meiste Kritik gekriegt ^^
Danke. Die Rüstung ist fast vollständig gebürstet, falls du es siehst ^^

Hahahahahah
But I found them very more interesting than the "box-shaped" dreadnoughts...
I have one box-shaped dread that is insanely lucky at his dices... in a single three-sided battle (me playing Ultrasmurfs, my friend Thales with World Eaters and another friend with Orks, all vs. all) the guy smashed a Hellbrute, an Ork Warboss, a nob squad, two cultist squads and half a chosen squad (the chosen failed at morale and run off scared...)

I like both designs, but the contemptor is definetly the stronger one ^^
That sounds like a hell of a fight ^^
You have to tell me how you arranged that three-party-game, i have already thought about it, but i never got the chance to come up with one.
What loadout did that coffin have? ^^

Warhammer 40k is very very very hard to come by in Brazil, mostly because of the import taxes and the fact that there isn't any miniature/plastimodelism stores in my city, so when I travel abroad I buy everything I can XD
Last time I bought the Dark Vengeance, Thousand Sons conversion kit and the Assault on Black Reach boxes, converted the Dark Angels to Thousand Sons and ended up with 4 small armies (Orks, Ultrasmurfs, Khorne heretics (I changed their colors to World Eaters because I like the legion) and Thousand Sons). My friends wanted to learn how to play 40k, so I decided to make a 3 players free4all battle XD
The first mission we set up the terrain with stones and boxes and took turns, each player decided were to put their miniatures in the terrain and rolled the scatter dice + 5d6, so any unit could start anywere... Like if ships were crushed in space and drop pods were scattered everywhere in the planetary surface.
It was a massacre, mostly because the Dreadnought, the Hellbrute, Ork Warboss, Nobs and cultists had fallen almost all in the same spot, and my Dread kept getting success at the dices all time
Ultramarines tactical squad had fallen near the ork boyz and choppas, and they mostly killed each other until the Chosen got nearby and smashed any survivors.
Other time we took a square table and each army started at one side, the objectives were to finish everyone else and be the last army standing. This time I was playing World Eaters, a friend was with orks and the other with Thousand Sons. The Nobs got smashed by the Sons Terminators and the player got scared as a chicken, massed his greenskins and jumped everything against me. I made some idiotic moves and lost mostly of my troops, ended only with the heretic lord against all the Sons army... And for my surprise he started to take them all down like there was no tomorrow, until his plasma pistol overheated and he exploded like fireworks XD
My dread is the standard one from Black Reach box, with a twin linked Melta Gun, heavy bolter and a hand to crush enemies

Sounds like a nice game
And a nice idea of course. If i get the chance, i´ll try to make something likely, lets see how it works

The chaotic element is the one that makes the game more funny... you can't devise a tactic from the start
And also orks. They are so random that any game with them isn't certain at all

Well, i think to learn the game how it works tacticis the wrong point to start with, at first you have to learn the mechanics of the game. Nice idea to let them learn this

And W40k have very weird and hard to learn mechanics... I think GW should review all the mechanics and tables in the next edition...

Well, i think the basics how the turns work is the easiest part of it. But to learn to control a game and really know what to do and how to react is the difficult part.
I don´t think the tables are that hard to learn, i knew it by heart already after the testgame in the local GW...

Wow!
I'm most at the "D&D 3" side, I like more rules that have an easy logic on themselves, and you can just follow the common sense instead of consulting tables and more tables. I think all tests should be made like the Leadership test... The game would be quite faster this way...

Well, our Player group is quite good in knowing the stats for their troops and we trust each other enough to believe that these values are right, so the game is pretty fast
Lets see when i manage to get a dice simulator programmed to accellerate the game more

Well, for beginners it is quite harder... Usually my group forgets about things like grenades, and everybody is shocked when someone remember they exist...

I know that situation well, there are some special rules that are not used very often and are poorly known, but all in all it works fine for us
Well, in my first game with the new Spacemarine codex i forgot my ultramarines chapter tactics, and they would have been very usefull, but it was a good game anyway
