Nice concept, if you plan to make this app a big shot.
I suggest you think of something that would make the users use it as a replacement for their default text editor.
Plan on creating some good features not only the basics as they will only think that if it's basic why would i plan on replacing my notepad with this?

because some will want to try but don't want to risk installing. I suggest when you first launch an app, you should make a portable version first before making it installable.

how come you can only use .rtf (rich text format) docs with this?

because its a better format than .txt

tried it, but a few suggestions, the border is to think, also as its in Windows 7, shouldn't it have integration like the tab feature shows on the tabs were the task-bar is, next is when the window is launched shouldn't a tab be created already as right now it task seconds longer than the default, aslo whys it called "Notifier" if its a Alternative to Notepad, shouldn't it be called something Similar to Notepad, but apart from that if these are addressed it would be good replacement but right now the default one will remain my default
