Description
"As the breeze blew by, the tendrils of wind curled around the strings, carrying her song on the wind."The third in my series of music spirits, and likely the last for a while. It's time for me to work on something else for a little while.
This piece was done using a 2B mechanical pencil on 9" by 12" sketchbook paper.

This is really beautiful! I love the details on the dress- is it based off of anything?
And I also adore and want the harp
This is amazing for having been done in just pencils..I'm in awe!

Thank you so much! I'm sorry for the late reply - I haven't been on much lately (not gone forever, though).
The dress details were not based off of anything in specific, although they were inspired, in part, by old Victorian-era upholstery.
Thank you so much, again. Your comment made me smile!

Thank you so much!
This series was to tinker with the Art Nouveau style. I'd never done it before (or since, yet), but I very much enjoyed the end results.
Thank you again for the lovely compliment (as well as the favourite and watch. )

Thank you so much!
Yes, with this series, I was trying out an Art Nouveau style for the first time. I quite liked it.
Again, thanks for the comment and the favourites!

Respectfully, this is my least favorite of the series, but it still manages to be fantastic. I may have to try this style or something similar. Excellent job, yet again!

Indeed, it is my least favourite as well. I think I got a little lazy by the time I got to this one. It took me forever to finish, since I lost interest.
It is a fun style to play with, indeed! I had been looking at an awful lot of Mucha's art when I made these.
And thank you yet again for the lovely words!

Woow this is so awesome! I love everything, the flowy hair, the composition, the beautiful pattern on her dress, the details, the flowers, the shading (gotta LOVE the shading), everything! This is so beautiful and really really well done!

Thank you so much! Wow, I'm really glad you like it so.
This series was pretty time consuming for me, and if I can, I still have one piece left to go until it is complete... I just haven't wanted to do it for a while.
Thanks so very much for the comment and favourite!

Thanks so very much!
I'm afraid the rest of the series will have to wait, though. I need to take a bit of a break to get my creative juices back up to par. This one took me waaaayyy too long compared to the other two. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't be updating.
I'm getting ready to take part in a couple online projects which should have me drawing fairly regularly.
However, for your interest, when I get back to it, I think the next Music Spirit will be the bells.

I love it that the background actually looks distant and the ornaments do look closer, it's a really beautiful work on the depth you have done here. And I'm just in love with the ornaments and the style in general.
The harp looks a little bit still for a musical instrument -- perhaps a slight trembling on the strings would have made it seem more lively.
The outline of the figure is done so beautifully and the wooden harp made me feel nostalgic for some reason. But beautifully drawn wooden objects tend to have this effect on me ^^
*giggles* Do I use the word "nostalgic" a bit more often than before? I do hope it's not a sign of getting older ^^

*grin* Thanks yuni!
I think you are right - the harp is actually my least favourite accomplishment in this drawing. I had many troubles with it, and never having actually seen a lap harp in person, I wasn't quite sure how to fix my shortcomings. Next time I shall certainly try as you've suggested.
meh. Nostalgic doesn't mean you're getting older, it means you've gone through life phases. I started feeling nostalgic shortly after high school was over, when I was still in me 'teens.

 Thank you so much! I'm very glad you like her.
The details in the dress drove me a little bonkers this time. Only this time, though, for some reason. The other two in the series were no problem... hm. Maybe I just don't like brocade. Thanks again!
