Description

| As the Black force, prevent the fall of City A. |
Situation

  • Black overextension was punished, but there was not enough opportunity to destroy Army Group Center (AG Center)
  • AG Center was broken by a combined attack of Red Front A, B. forced to retreat south of River A, reforming around the core of 3. Army
  • After the punishment of AG Center, Red has chased Black AG Center 150 km, to the edge of River A
  • Red Fronts A, B, C, are converging on Black Capital, City A.
  • There is no strategic advantage in equipment on either side
  • Weather remains dry, and cool, with no rain

Considerations

Black Side

  • 2 Army fortifies City B as defensive position
  • Overall supply situation remains optimal in all except the 3. Army
  • 3 Army is in the process of organizing all broken formations of AG Center, and has very little attacking potential. But it can defend its stretch of the river
  • Black is to hold City B at all cost, to provide strategic depth for the Capital, City A
  • AG South has pinned Front C with counterattacks southeast of Town F
  • The majority of AG North is to the Northwest of the theater, leaving very few formations to use
  • It is better not to be subject to red breakthrough artillery barrage

Red Side

  • Will attack across the entire front
  • Supply situation is optimal for Front A, C. Front B is at the end of its supply line, but can take from Front A if necessary.
  • The pin on Front C is only effective so long the 4th Army remains intact outside of Town D
  • Offensive scheduled in three phases:

  • Cut off 2. Army in City B.
  • Reduce 2. Army and attack to the southeast
  • Front A attacks towards H6, B towards F8 to surround and cut off City A.

  • OOB
