After a blistering 4 hours of just coloring... I finished Ikaros!I'd provide a link to my video, but Sony Vegas is being a major pain in my ass right now and for some reason really wants to crash every time I try to use it or Render...
Even though My PC is a freaking watercooled i5 6600k and a GTX 1070... Man that's really irritating.
So I have no idea when I'll be able to finish the video...

Wow, this is really great! The colouring looks amazing, and you can really tell how much effort went into it!
My only critique would be that the blush looks a little bit too dark, but you did mention that you were emulating the animator's style, so that may just be the way that the animator colours blush. Still, it's a really small thing, and it doesn't detract from the overall quality of the piece! I particularly like how you coloured the hair and made it shine!
Also, the detail on them chains. chainsaremymortalenemyaahhhhhh--
I know what you mean about Sony Vegas. There have been many times when I've had to uninstall and reinstall it because it would take hours to render a 1-2 minute project. OTL
So, I hope that improves for you. I've been meaning to do some more speedpaints myself, but I need to find a good screen recording software that doesn't have a limited timeframe on it. The one I used to use would only last for ten minutes at a time, and I'm sure you can imagine how many times I forgot to start recording again because I was too focused on the drawing itself, haha.

Yeah, Sony Vegas has been such a hassle. I tried reinstalling it and it still doesn't work. D: I normally use Sony Vegas 13, so I even installed Sony Vegas 14 and I still had major issues with it.
So now I'm thinking that there is something within windows that is putting a thorn in my ass... Which is really annoying because I don't even know where to start when finding that problem in my Operating System.
So for now, I'm just drawing without recording, :/ But I'm going to refrain from making finished pieces like this one because it feels like such a waste sometimes when I could make a video showing the time, effort, and patience I had when creating the piece.
I use shadow play which comes free with the Nvidia Drivers(you should have it on your PC already) However, it records in real time, which means I have a 9 hour video on my hard drive that needs to be sped up in Sony Vegas, haha. The 9 hours is pure raw footage from the screen, so the quality is top notch but the file size is kinda ridiculous, I'm talking like 100gb videos here, lol.
Anyway, I'll find out what to do with it, either that or use a different software. Thank you again for the kind words!~

Ah! I didn't realise that. I guess it makes sense since mine is a really high spec gaming computer which I mainly use to play Sims much to your brother's dismay LOL so it would come with a recording program for Let's Plays and stuff like that... Woohoo! My problem is solved. XD
That does sound frustrating. And holy crap! 9 hours is a long, long time.
Granted, it did take me a good month to do one of my newer pieces (that isn't uploaded on here due to explicit sexual content), so I feel your pain. UGH, it must suck.
Holy shit, 100gb. My old computer would have died and spontaneously combusted.

I'm practicing a lot with shading, by implementing my traditional shading techniques into digital... But finding the correct brushes is a bit challenging.
I might in the future. Drawing backgrounds will be a real challenge for me because it's too hard for me. >~<
