No, i understand the creeper, it walks up to me and blows up. I don't care the intentions behind it, I'm gunna shoot it so it doesn't blow up on me.
But since notch says they are made of leaves, i imagine them to be tree spirits who are pissed that you are on their island scaring the land for whatever materials you want.
