I drew this for one of my closest friends and I really hope it makes her smile. She inspired it with her words and ideas and spirit. I'm going to order her a huge print for her wall to show my eternal gratitude.
I was trying to capture that moment when someone suddenly appears in your field of vision and you can really only see their silhouette because your eyes haven't dark-adapted yet. That kind of mysterious, disorienting feeling when you want to see more, but your eyes just won't let you.
I made this in oc and photoshop, mostly photoshop though. Making it so that I could have a print was the most challenging. I was working w/o a ref so that I wouldn't have to deal with getting clearance for a reference photo. And I was working on it spliced into pieces in separate .psds, head in one file, hands in another, etc, since my computer was lagging when I tried to work on it all in one canvas. This piece took a lot of tinkering, to get the peices to configure back together and to get the anatomy right.

hello, this picture means and says too much to try to convey here, i think you should just make a million prints and post them for the world to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your other pictures are just as good in quality, i can see your major time and effort....OH, I Really Like This!!! too special, too sweet. P. S. This image, to me, evokes perfectly the main character and her philosophy in that novel.

Thanks. Your comment reminded me that I made a huge poster size file a long time ago. I just uploaded it now, I think prints take a day or two to get approved. If everything goes right, there will be a 30x40 print.

Beautiful. I like the contrast between the dark silhouette and the warm glow of the 'celestial fruit'. It's like she's showing, offering, the best hidden treasure in the world, and one feels quite stunned just by looking at it because one knows: this is it.
