...self-contained. Is it easier to hide than to explain?I've been having so much fun with the color scheme and hairstyle of the girl from Ionic , that I decided to start a series of images of her. I guess that would kind of make her a character of mine? I don't have a story for her, but I do want to flesh out her personality a little.
This one started as a doodle on lined notepaper, and then I colored it in Opencanvas and refined it a bit in Painter7. I also have a wallpaper version of it that I can upload if anyone is interested. And, for once, despite my angry computer, I worked at a large enough resolution for printing.
*edit* I uploaded the wrong version the first time. This one is cropped and sized properly, but the edits aren't showing in the thumbnail.

Well.. I like the idea, and I like the color of the face, and the lips and nose are beautiful. I hate that background color, though. It just sucks the life out of that nice warm pink color you used for the "ball" and makes it look flat. And while I do realise it's your style, I have to say I'm not a big fan of the giant eye. Aside from the fact that it's huge, it doesn't seem to be in quite as sharp of focus as the lips and nose are, either.

Her face is so pretty, very delicate, but sort of worried, as if she's contemplating something important.
Absolutely beautiful. I love the feel of it--the tangibility of the shape and texture.

You know I liked the original piece a lot, so it's no wonder that this piece is also very excellent in my point of view. Think this character has a powerful look that's created through the strong and well balanced colours and the unconventionel overall look. I could imagine a lot of varied themes of that subject. So keep it up.

I like the bigger eyes you gave her. I still can't believe you can do that with OC. I've tried and I still can't get it to look that smooth. Neat sphere hair. And the color scheme goes together so well.

Oh my goodness, this is so gorgeous.
I don't know why a sphere is so hard to c olour, just because of it's many angles of shading and depth.

It's very good indeed, but again you where a bit sloppy with the background. You really should put more time in BG's, they really add a lot to a piece. Other than that, nice work, as usual.

Personally I feel that being self-contained is good at the right time, but it can work against you because if everything is contained, kept hidden, an explosion is to be expected eventually.

Wow thats an awesome concept for the hair.
Has a very captive feel to it, like she is stuck inside looking out.
The color scheme is nice. Seems all i use lately is a similar color scheme, but maybe thats because of the type of stuff ive been drawing .
I like alot of the work you do, but i rarely comment because by the time i see your work it is already loaded with comments and it seems pointless to make another "great work!" comment.
