Technical: Freehand photoshop airbrush painting. This isn't a tracing, paintover or photomanip. Photoshop 6.0. Wacom. Airbrush (hard edge brushes) and eraser only.A little practice painting of actress Nia Long from this photo-reference: [link] This doesn't really look like her, the eyes are all screwed up and the nose is crooked. I was trying to practice painting w/o getting caught up in the details. This took me 3 hours. I don't think this painting does her justice. She's much more beautiful than I've depicted her.

great picture.. great picture. but.. one big problem on her left eye.. they lightning kind off so. make her face look wide.. and.. the light and dark seem like 2 person's face. the left side. the whole face are being pushed upward. should be a bit darker on her right shoulder. that way it can bring the person out more. great bluring on the backround. lol.

i am not in the space mood, thats brilliant, its so good, its fuckign blinding, the hair is so realistic. its with p[ictures liek this i wonder if people ever slip the odd photo into devart pretending its a picture, in fact i thoutgh this was a photo when i first saw it. out of my mind. faves

this is amazing man, i cant believe that this is a freehand airbrush with PS....i cant even use the damn thing for touch up, and your making photo quality pics...ncie stuff...+fav

Very nice, but to make it look more alike, the nose and lips should be a bit wider.

I think this is your most realistic one, IMO. The shading and details are almost perfect. I love the bright lighting. Her hair is cool! I want hair like that! Wait... no I don't. But, it's a great painting.

Hmm... i clicked on the original.. and i swear this image is breathe taking compared to the original... you made Nia Long 10x hotter than what she is in the original.

I think it shows her in a beautiful way, so don't worry about that it don't matches her. I even think this looks one step better than the reference, course the colours are more intensive than in the photo and it looks much sharper. Especially the curly hair looks great. What's a bit odd is her forehead. The shading doesn't look optimal at this position. maybe it's too scratched or it's too deep. Still a great dev and the blending on the right looks very fine.

This is awesome, and YES it looks like here... I didn't even notice the little differences. I'm not one for digital art at all, but if you did this freehand, then that's just as good. I AM IMPRESSED... with this, and all the others. You have amazing talent, my friend!
