this originally started off as some lineless practice in between owed art (since I've been wanting to refine my lineless style for a while) but eventually turned into a really fun full blown art piece! magnum opus for this year I think?

coloring is always my most dreaded part, so I really wanted to push myself to start experimenting more with colors going into 2021 (':

the red rectangles on the antlers are inspired by the Chinese tradition of hanging red envelopes to trees/branches during the Lunar New Year to bring in prosperity! (and because it's just very pretty + everything is decorated in red) my mom does it every year to some of our indoor plants, & though we're still ~ a month away from the Year of the Ox, think of this as an early tribute.
