Description
While i was saving this file my comp crashed... and the file became corrupted so i lost practically all the details i worked on. I opened up the previous file and out of frustration i threw in swirls of fury... so its a dramatic change to the original army of darkness rising out of the earth idea. Fun but somewhat unfulfilled.- Photoshop CS3

I like it better this way! I dunno but the way everything kind of bends around her makes it look like she's so powerful she doesn't need an army. That's just my opinion tho

Actually, having the earth itself come up to attack you with swirling death is much more terrifying than hordes of corpses. The unfortunate event may actually have worked in your favor in that regard--though in some ways this painting does look a bit rough. Or was it intended to have a more fuzzy background?

The background details were lost so it wasn't intended cause i didn't have the motivation to do it again.

Understood. If you ever decide that you want to work on it again...instead of sharpening the background again, perhaps the corrupting swirls of death from the earth leach power from the world around them. Perhaps the necromancer has managed to steal the life force of the planet itself and twist it into death for all around her. Just a thought. You might go so far as to show the world start to break down around the edges a bit, if this idea is at all interesting to you.

Do what feels right to you...that's about all I can say. It's the approach I take with my poetry, and I'd imagine that digital and traditional art is much the same principal. Only the medium used for expression is different.

Nice eye-of-the-storm effect. The red to gray shift is dramatic, as well. Too bad about the lost work, but at least the salvage looks good?

This is one really awesome piece. Just how the colors blend is just wicked. The vortex ,I have to say, really makes that piece. And, is that a castle next to the moon? If so, really superb!
