when i saw ur pic..
it makes me wonder if those two had been frends and in the end became strangers for the time being..
at first the girl was wat i saw.. then slowly i make out a figure closest to us, a guy in jacket and hair covering his eyes..
its like they dont know each other anymore...
it acually makes me sad ..

Really nice, I love the lighting on this. Soft overall but sharp where needed, and with a cold feeling complimented by the clothing portrayed. I also love the sorta fuzzyness to the coloring and very soft grain. Would you mind going into detail on what you did this in and what type of brush/brush settings you used?
Finally, as a person who is absolutely terrible at being proactive in staying in touch with friends, (or being proactive in socializing at all,) I can certainly relate to the sentiment here.

I love the emotion you tried to portray in this picture. The black and white makes me feel as if someone took a photo, so it's even more surreal to me. Great job on the difference in lighting between the people because just by the lighting and the girl's expression, you know exactly who the two strangers are. Your interpretation of the phenomena is very well done, and we can all relate to your "Familar Stranger" piece.

the values used here really bring out the emotion of the piece. laughter can be reflected in the women, who are light; and sadness can be seen in the guy, who is darker (btw, I just want to hug him XD).
great job. : D

I love how the lack of bright colour in this emphasizes that feeling of lonliness and the making of strangers rather than friends.. I think its brilliant I think you've illustrated somethign which is really relevant to todays culture and.. its really sad how people have just.. stopped talking. Even with email, phones, everything, all those ways to make it easier to talk.. people just dont. I think you illustrated it really well
On a more arty level, love the brush you used, gives it a really soft hazy feel in parts, and I like how you can see brushstrokes here and there, as opposed to it being really refined. Excellent work!

Time makes strangers of us all if you don't hold on to the people dear to you. Something that we need to hear in this day and age. I could see that within this composition, noticing the guy on the right.
This is an awesome piece, it really is. I like the movement created in the composition, as well as the loose strokes. I also like color scheme, going monochromatic. Right scheme to fit this setting and concept.

Stunning. The shading is wonderful, with the person in the front in shadow and one of the women highlighted. The poses are very eloquent, especially that of the man - keeping his eyes downcast, hunched over, hands in the pockets... And I adore the surreal blur of the painting, gives it a vaguely impressionistic feel.

Touching image and message. I love the title and how well the theme is incorporated into the picture. The mood, the specific tones and high key/low key frequency is all mixed really well.
I'm liking how you drew attention to the girl by the lighting and how the boy, although shaded darkly, is brought to our attention by sheer perspective. The composition rules, so to speak.
The fading out of not-so-important figures and details is ingenious as well, such as the companion and the details of his jacket. It's blurry but also adds to the wholeness of the image.
It also makes me ponder the lost history between the two, for why the girl looks so cheerful and why the boy looks so forlorn. Their expressions are very curious, I especially like how with just a few visible strokes us viewers can see the attitude within those paint strokes just as clearly as their expressions.
No critique, it's a great image with a profound message and one that reminds me to catch up with friends of mine. Thank you!
