Description
I really hope the colours work on this one.... I was stupid enough to draw it on my laptop-again- which doesn't display the colours correctlyThe Toko on the right belongs to awesome JACARIUS
might write a story for this one later...
for now:
LYRA , Atami and JACARIUS 's Maps each get:
Total = 10
3(fb colored shaded) + 2(complex bg) +1(non-com) +2(handler) +2(explore)

The colours are fantastic! It is like the characters have stumbled into a cave of wonders.
The characters seem a bit out of place, but I have a few suggestions on how to better create a more cohesive painting:
- To allow the characters to integrate with their surrounds, I'd suggest the canvas be cropped differently - a wider shot will create an even greater sense of awe as well as give the characters more room to breathe.
- Add more details to the characters and perhaps have their fur blur and blend in more with their surroundings. So have their fur extend over the edges of their lines. As the rest of the cave is smoothly blended, adding some more details to the characters should only enhance their uniqueness and solidify their existence on the canvas.
- I realise they are emerging from a hole in the cave but the shading on their backsides is very dark which makes it seem they are appearing out of nowhere. I'd suggest the shading on their backside fade out more gradually toward the darkest part of the cave.
Hope these are helpful!
Great work on using colours to create an eerie yet magical painting!

I ADORE the colours. I love the contrast within this rainbow of colours, with warmer colours on the right, and cooler ones on the left. I also love the design of the cave: it makes me think of Aztec/Mayan ruins, and in itself it seems to tell a forgotten story about a lost civilization...
Alas, the creatures at the bottom simply don't seem to fit into this image. The quality of the background, of the cave, is very high in my opinion: that picture can easily exist on its own, and feels like it is the main focus of the piece. The characters at the bottom have too sharp edges compared to the beautiful blur of the BG, and too complex designs. I think some deeper shading, especially on the backs of the creatures standing at the cave's entrance, could already make a difference. I find the character on teh left the most fitting of all, as the shading and colours are most similar to the cave - which, as said, feels like the main point of interest in this pic.
Hope this helps you any ^^ I really, really love that cave e.e

Thanks so much! And you're so right... I wanted to breath some life into it with the characters, but I suppose it would have worked without them...

It certainly would. Honestly, this same pic without the creatures I would have faved because I LOVE it. A lot. It's something I'd certainly use as a desktop background when in need of peaceful mystery.
That cave is already alive on its own. Very much so. ... I love it so much. you did an amazing job with it!

Hello! Project Comment-er here!
The overall feeling of this work is great - the colours caught my eye and as I see in the description - you worry if you got them right, From my point of view you did as they are really expressive and get the feeling of the work across. I get a feeling of danger mixed with something magical.
The things that can be improved: It is not sharp enough. I am not sure I can distinguish the dogs/animals correctly and as I person who is introduced to your art for the first time, I am not sure what is going on. I see you are doing great with colours so if you were a bit more confident with your lines as well I think we would have something really amazing

Do it at your own pace but do go out of your comfort zone, that's how artists grow.

Hi ! I'm from ProjectComment !
Wow ! What an interesting piece ! I don't really know how you did the animals, it's really intriguing ! It makes me think of some animation, like "Pierre et le loup" by a russian artist. I don't really know if you had a story behind your drawing, so I will just talk about what I see ! I like the background, it's really what makes me want to comment on your work. It makes me think a bit of the shadow temple from Zelda Oot. So mysterious and kind of weird too, that's really well made ! I especially like how you did with the colors. Is it some kind of cavern or door to an other world ? It's so nice ! An anxious, peculiar and interesting work ! Really great !

haha, you know, when I start in greyscale I can go crazy with the colours later Which is cool... Ahm... yes... the fur XD I did it with patterns, that come with krita... I usually don't use textures, but I'm starting to think it could save me a number of headaches to do it more

I defiantly recommend textures, it really helps lump loads of detail and 'grime' into an image without using loads of brushes, and can recommend some deviants who make them without scary copyright conditions, and for free.

AGREED. It's so wonderful to have artists willing to let their work be used so freely, it helps digital artists like us out SO much.
