Utulië'n aurë! Auta i lómë! Aurë entuluva!"The night is passing! The day has come! Day will come again!"
(Elvish battle cry in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. Before the battle, Fingon cried out ‘Auta i lómë!’, to which the warriors responded ‘Utulië’n aurë!’. When Turgon made his retreat, the Men under Húrin’s command held the rearguard. Turgon’s last sight of Húrin was of the Man surrounded by a pile of dead orcs shouting ‘Aurë entuluva!’)
This is a hand-painted t-shirt, as a contest price for whose picture
placed 1st in the "Between the lines" contest of , and .
The credit for the idea goes to *LadyElleth . Only the sword is my idea, and the elf in the design is supposed to be Fingon. The tengwar transcription of the quote was also provided by her.

I'm just wondering, wouldn't it be copyright infigenment to sell t-shirts with Tolkien motive?

You know, the only thing in the design I'd have any question about is the elvish script. But I am going to say I would be surprised.
That being said I have heard MANY stories about just how litigious the Tolkien Estate is so I suppose it could be a risk.
But if you check around Red Bubble, Zazzle and many other Tee printing sites you wouldn't think so.
You could always ask the question here of how many people would be interested in a shirt, see how many you'd need to have printed then take orders, print them up at a custom shop and sell them here r through etsy.
