Description
I created this sketchy mess a couple of months ago when I was trying to figure out what kind of style I wanted to draw the villain of the "Five nights at Freddy's" games; Springtrap aka the Purple Man. I tried to decide whether I should go for a more expressive and original design or more closer to its true roots like how Scott created him in "Five nights at Freddy's 3" . I'm a fan of almost any kind of art style that exsits, but crosshatching has always been close to my heart for years so while I applied the crosshatching patterns it suddenly hit me! "Wait a minute... Doesn't this version look similar to BOB...?"For those who don't know; BOB is Negaduck9 take on the FnaF games antagonist, in her fan comic and story "Requiem with a Birthday Cake". I can recommend the comic even for non fans who dislike "Five nights at Freddy's", but who would enjoy reading a supernatural thriller.
Today, I see these doodles as something my subconscious created as a small tribute to Negaduck 's neat art style and storytelling, but since I don't wish to be accused by others for tracing I asked for her permission to post it just in case.
The doodles of Springtrap are not pretty, but at the same time; He's not supposed to be that either.
Springtrap aka Purple Man/Guy belongs to Scott Cawthon.
BOBtrap belongs to Negaduck9 .

he looks amazing! those expressions are awesome
...and even though he'd kill me in 2 seconds, I really want to grab his hand in that sketch at the bottom..he looks so scared and unhappy!

Wow! Thank you for the comment and the faves! Hehe, for being a one year old doodles, I guess they still look pretty neat!
Hmm, that's interesting! When I first doodled that pose, the emotion that I had in mind was different, though I can definitely buy the emotions you mentioned. Being dead and forever trapped in a molten bunny costume isn't likely the best way to spend eternity.

You're welcome! They are very nice!
lol yeah, that would be a pretty sucky eternity. I also just have a thing for Springtrap (and most villians in general.) I mean, *somebody* has to feel bad for them, right?
hehe...right?

It's okay! I like villains too, not in the way you described though. I like well-written villains that gives a story it's spice.

I don't say he looks like Anyone's style because the way she draws him is true to the original design Scott gave Springtrap. But hnnnnnngh I looove the grittiness of your picture! <33 the combination of pen and pencil is absolutely heart taking o3o

While Negaduck9 's BOBtrap carries a lot of similarities with Springtrap, there's also lots of certain distinctive traits that seperates them from each other (Like BOBtrap's toaster patterns on his head as an example). I agree with you that Negaduck9 's artstyle and rendition of the nefarious bunny doesn't look like anyone else's.
Gritty? Because of these doodles being... well, doodles, I'd never expected them to be called gritty. Your comment makes me happily surprised. Thank you!
And thank you for the fave too!

Yeah I agree with Negaduck9, these look like drawings done by Mirage-Epoque, of Springtrap! We all have our own flare on drawing, based on what we've seen and researched. These look GREAT I really dig the texture on these.

Thank you so much for your comment, Mattartist25! It's really helpful in boosting confidence that I made the right choice of posting these doodles as well inspiring of how art styles can be preceived! I'm very happy you liked what I made!

These are very good drawings of Springtrap. I like the shading and texture your crosshatching adds.
As for the similarities in our art, don't worry about that. One, we're both drinking from the same well, so there are bound to be similarities. Two, I don't think your Springtrap looks like a copy of mine. You draw more "battle damage" and include details that I leave out, like the "battle damage" on his left ear and the wires coming out of everywhere. If you were really imitating my art, you'd draw those two slots I draw on his head that makes it look like a toaster.

Thank you so very much for your kind input! I'm very glad that you like it!
You're right. I can sometimes worry a bit too much, but at the same time ever since the art theft discussion was posted it has caused a lot of infectious anger in the community.
Because of that there are people out there who are too fast at jumping at conclusions and pulling out the pitchforks so I'd rather try to minimize the risks of misunderstandings instead.
Yeah, I wasn't sure of what kind of style I wanted to draw him in. To decide if I should go for a more detailed and realistic style or for a more relaxed and expressive approach like how you and Mattartist25 draw your characters (spoiler; I still don't know which to choose... ). I have a bad habit of adding waaay too many details than I should do for my own good.
Hmm! When you mention it, they do look like two toaster slots!
