Description
These are some ideas I have for more variants of manakites! <3These new variants are off limits until further developed.
Arctic / Iceberg Back Manakites
These manakites are much larger and fewer in number than the common manakite. They float near the surface of the ocean with ice formations on their backs. Unlike the common and avian manakites, these manakites lack a mimicry ability. Instead their bodies are a lot strong and capable of supporting the large mass of ice. Some animals have even hitched rides on the backs of these frozen kites. The streamers, frozen from the cold waters, can now become icicles or other frozen shapes. They do not dive further down into the ocean often. They rely on filter feeding, filtering food from water, to gain the nutrients they need to survive.
Tropical - Reef & Island Manakites
These manakites come in two sizes! One that's a bit larger than the common manakite and one that is about the same size. An additional type of streamer is available to these tropical manakites. They are able to have ocean current/ wave shaped streamers. The streamers are not physical attachments but rather a manifestation of their swimming magic. Both variants of manakites feature a hardened shell of sand on their backs. Reef manakites, the smaller of the two tropical manakites, features coral reef like features such as rock formations, small sea life, sea plants, and - of course, colorful coral. They spend most of their time near the tropical continental shelves where food and life is abundant. Because their backs are home to many creatures, they do not eat other fish outside of plankton through filter feeding.
The second type of tropical manakite is the much larger, island manakite. These manakites are a lot larger than the common and reef manakites ( similar in size to the arctic manakite ). Like their reef cousin, they feature a sandy back where many organisms make their homes. These manakites swim extremely close to the surface of the water, careful not to drown anything living on its back. They filter feed and sometimes eat the smaller creatures like crabs on their backs.
Avian - The Flying Manakites
Avian manakites are cousins to the common sea manakites. The two coexist and are like opposites to one another. Similarly to the common manakite, avian manakites are capable of mimicry as well, but their mimicry is limited to flying organisms like birds. As common manakites leap out of of the water to replenish magic by allowing their bead to come into contact with the air, avian manakites dive into the water instead, charging their beads through contact with water. The wings of an avian manakite are feathered at the edges and have two sets of streamers on their wings instead of just on the wing tips like the sea manakites.

Maybe in the future, boltan would work as a pretty cool avian manakite!

Bird one would be nice. I would love to make a manakite based on a hawk or eagle.
