"Do you ever wonder what your life would be like if the shift didn't happen," my wife asked me.

"Not all that much," I answered. "The only big thing would be that I probably would've never met you."

"You might've, just we would not have fallen in love, gotten married, and started a family."

"Yup, you'd still be some random teen trying to find their way through life, and I'd be stuck in a dead-end job."

"But we don't live in such a terrible timeline; I'm your wife and the mother of our kids."

"Kids," I asked. "As in multiple?"

"Yes, I'm pregnant again."

"That's wonderful," I said as I ran to my wife, picked her up, and hugged her.
