Yay more Yume Nikki Fan art~! I haven't drawn much of it lately, so I thought why not.
If you look it up on the internet and youtube, you can find there's an alternative ending to the game where rather than *spoiler* jumping from the porch and dying, Madotsuki falls out of bed and walks out the door, off into the real world to face her fears, perhaps?
I like that she ends up living to face her fears rather than die with them.

I don't like that "Other Ending" patch though. The creator wanted her to *spoiler* jump off for a reason Dx. We just have to wait for a real sequal.
Or for the creator to join the Yume 2kki project.

Secondly, I like the other ending, even though it's made by a fan, I'm a guy who likes happy endings :3
Saying that however, the orginal ending itself could be seen as a happy ending (I like to look at it that way -w-) for the whole thing that she is trapped sleeping or in a coma or something (Possabily by a car crash or something like that (As seen by things found throughout the game)) and by jumping off the buildings she's not killing herself but infact waking herself up
Saying that, it's allllll up to what you want it to be :3

That's a very interesting way to look at it. I always felt that Madotsuki was staying in her room because the world outside was cruel to her in many ways or se just had some bad past experiences that messed her up, revealed in her dreams. She sleeps to escape thoes cruelties but found that even in her sleep they torment her, so to truly escape the fear she felt she'd have to collect the main points of these events(effects), place them all together, and kill herself along with these fears. That's just my theory of corse. Everyones is a little different, which is why I love this game so much.

Of course it's fake. If you know the mechanic of the game and have enough skills, you can make ending, where Madotsuki marries Masada. Or worse.
But it still'll be fake.
Also, you can choose third option - play NASU. And play NASU again.

Random deviant passing by here, but I have to say I like the concept of this picture. Given how Yume Nikki is, I have always had a hunch at that Madotsuki collecting those effects is a sign she was confronting her fears, and that after she put them all in her Nexus, she was ready to face the outside world.
But how does that explain her jumping from her balcony? Easy. The entire game was a dream in itself. When she collected all the effects, then jumped off the balcony, she really woke up, able to finally leave her room and face her fears in reality.

Thanks! Well, that's atually how the alternative ending in the updatedversion is. She jumps off the balcony and wakes up n the floor next to her bed. Then, she gets up and leaves her room, off into the real world.
In the Original ending where she just jumps, it shows a puddle of blood leading us to believe she died
The best part of this game is that it allows us the players to come up with our own theories as to why Madotsuki dreamed thoes things. ^w^
