If it gets too bad with the overheating they make a cooling pad that you can put under it. It has fans and what not for no more then 20. my friend has one and she says it works good.

Well kittens have a hard time generating their own heat so they like to be near mommy or "warmth" at all times. Even as they get older, like my pair are around 5 and 6, they love to lay on the carpet near the window and sun bathe for hours. They just really love warmth! My one cat lays next to my lap top where the fan is because the air that comes out is pretty warm.

Yeah, they're so cute when they're little. My cats are always acting like yours too, but when its hot they just stretch out on the cold floor (and look weird).
