The basic principle is make an image look as bad as you can -- lots of noise, shifted pixels, distorted lighting using overlays, desaturation/resaturation with new and more relevant (Pretty Hate Machine ) colours and generally wrecking the image as much as humanly possible.

Oh wow!! I will have a go at it and post one some day!, It sounds really fun! I've got a plan, year zero music blasting, or the slip and make a data corruption image, well atleast try to!! my photoshop skillz have become a tad rusty lately!!!!
