His given name, from Sino-Korean 光 (gwang) meaning "light" combined with 洙 (su) meanig "water, waterside, riverside, shore".

His bday is on January 20th and is 38 years-old. He's 190cm tall, his blood type is 0.

He was born in Busan, but moved to Tokyo with his parents as a kid. There, his dad had an affair, and Yeong-mi was born. She's 5 years younger than her big brother.

Although having a relatively happy childhood, Kwang-soo's mother really hated Yeong-mi, so when his father died, she started treating her very badly.

When Kwang-soo was 17, he ended stabbing his mother for protecting his sister. He set the house on fire as well, and almost stayed there. Yeong-mi could make him come back to his senses and both left the house in time, but Kwang-soo recieved severe burns on his right arm and part of his back.

After recovering in the hospital for some time, Kwang-soo was imprisoned, and there he met Chan-woo, with whom he eventually fell in love. They actually started a romantic relationship once Kwang-soo got realased from prison. However, he died in 2002 in fron of him.

After that, Kwang-soo felt like he only brought misfortune to his beloved ones, so ran away to avoid that Yeong-mi suffered a similar fate because of him. However, they'll meet years later as members of the Ogbaem mafia and you bet he felt very disappointed on her back then.

Due to the smoke he inhalated during the fire, he ended up developing some respiratory problems that can be aggravated in cold weather. He tries to hide it at all costs to not seem weak (Not to Do-won for obvious reasons lmao but you get me).

Due to his burn scars on his back and right arm, he doesn't have the same snake tattoo everyone in the group has but something like a half of the actual thing: it goes from his clavicle to around his left arm, reaching the wrist.

He's not ashamed of his burn scars but knows some people could feel uneasy seeing them, so he always wears long sleeves.

His past affected him in the negative view he has now of the world. Also with his relationships; Kwang-soo had since then some flings, but always leaves as soon as he thinks feelings are getting on the way, since he's afraid of falling in love (and making other fall in love with him.). Yeong-mi thinks it's stupid and that he should let himself be happy.

He has a very high alcohol tolerance; he's not affected by it physically, but he does become flirtier tho. Still, he doesn't like to drink often. He tried to quit smoking, but still does if he's stressed.
