Awesome tutorial, really helpful for me as I'm a complete SAI noob. I was just wondering what resolution do you normally use for the canvas? Thanks!

It's really great tut and very helpful :]. Sorry for stupid question, but I'm a beginner .. Why should stabilizer be used among that range?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Miriki-Chi In reply to Clissat [2013-07-14 07:39:45 +0000 UTC]

it's from my experience that if the stabilizer is too low, the line may be not be smooth, but if it's too high it's hard to control the line. Im not saying that never use them, there should be case that high or low stabilizer is in need, but overall the medium stabilizer will make the line smooth and exact.

Congrats, you just singlehandedly told me some things I've been trying to find out for WEEKS.
(Don't want to buy it without knowing how it works, and don't want to waste my trial now when I don't have any time ;n

Do the brushes continue to get darker as you run over a specific point, or do they only go to the maximum opacity/density in the brush settings? In photoshop, you have to keep lifting your brush to get a darker color unless you go over it pressing harder on your tablet...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Miriki-Chi In reply to Bluewyrm [2012-09-04 13:39:51 +0000 UTC]

umm I think SAI doesnt support us to get the color darker , it just get the color bolder to the maximum opacity/density in the brush settin when we press the pen harder ~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bluewyrm In reply to Miriki-Chi [2012-09-04 22:06:41 +0000 UTC]

Whoops, terminology error. I think that's what I meant - in physical paint, it would correspond to putting more pigment down.

In Photoshop, if you were to cross a single brush stroke over itself when the opacity/density wasn't at maximum, the whole area would be the same color instead of being less transparent where the intersection was. Is that true for SAI's brushes as well?

Miriki-Chi In reply to Erivel [2012-08-23 12:55:01 +0000 UTC]

someone asked me this, and here's my answer: Original SAI dont have Ink brush ... I download that brush from the internet ~ but u can make one by right click Pen brush, then choose Duplicate , name it Ink , and make the setting like I make in the tutorial ~
