There's a reason I wrote "just for funsies", mate. It would be quite silly to buy a new wig for every makeup test I felt like doing.

I don't think it would as most of you barely pay $10 for your wigs, it's not as if they are quality.

WELL now, there is a whole bucketful of unfounded assumptions right there. Let's break it down, shall we? 

"I don't think it would" - well, I suppose you've got a right to your opinion same as anyone else.
"most of you" - whoa, whoa now. Who's that? Who's "most"? We're not *gasp* GENERALISING without proof, are we? For shame. Didn't anyone ever teach you not to lump people together for your own convenience? Very poor form. 
"barely pay $10" - ah, and how would you know what my expenses are? How would you know what everyone's expenses are? Oh, right. You DON'T. 
"it's not as if they are quality" - Oh, right, you have some all-seeing omniscient sixth sense or something that tells you at a glance the price and quality of an item. Man, I wish I had that. 

And just to top it all off, let's talk about wigs and cosplay for a sec, eh? Cosplay is, for myself and many people, a hobby. We earn nothing by it, and we do it for fun. Some people do buy $10 wigs, and you know what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that if they are pleased with the result. You go around telling folks to buy human hair wigs--do you know how much those cost? $100 for a human hair wig is EXTREMELY cheap. Generally they run upwards of $200, and for someone already spending money on materials for a cosplay, that's not often an option, especially if you're only going to wear the costume a few times. Even lace-front wigs are not cheap (usually $50+ for a good quality one). 

You want cosplayers to meet your standards? Tough. That's not their job. (But feel free to toss a couple hundred dollars their way for a human hair wig.)

I don't generalise, I make friends who share opinions.
People are always in this world to be a benefit to 1 another that's how things work in media, we use each other often to get our own advantages.
Judging by most people's wigs on here, most are too poor for cosplay as their wigs will never look real.
The cheaper the item the worse the quality, a genius knows that.
Cosplay a hobby, I take cheerleading, the cost in lessons and comp fees, hobbies aren't cheap they should be skilled and not a single perfection not achieved.
$10 wigs will always be on the people we don't want (the majority) of us who make the effort and are being easily judged for being royalists of this world.
$100 human hair can be bought but no spend $300 + if it must fit right and stop doing so many characters,some can be done at conventions for a year and then you can sell them at high prices on Amazon, human hair wigs sell for around 70% of original cost.
Yes cosplayers meet my standard, they clearly don't have jobs, why do I spend hours dealing with agents out of my country and time zone to make money to buy wigs and costumes Hollywood would believe were realistic.
I would offer to buy someone a wig on here but when I do they don't take kind offers like that, as a new cosplayer like I was, they shouldn't turn down something for free when as a hobby this is as expensive as cheerleading is,
