Description
Name: The Corgi, as far as anyone else is concerned.Breed Base: Cardigan Welsh Corgi Mix (Don’t mention he is a mix in front of him though, you will make him cry)
Age: 2
Gender: Male
Abilities: The Corgi can control a deck of cards, called the Black Cards, through telekinesis. The cards are the only items he can control. This supports his belief that the cards are mystical items. Still, the cards will usually cause minor cuts, with the rare deep cut (as stated before, he has a decent control over this ability, but can lose control here and there with complex card tasked, such as the turning the cards into weapons). This can usually cause enough distraction for The Corgi to sneak away if he needs to. He can also levitate the cards around him, but doesn’t do this often around crowds. Usually if he’s around Corvidea or a small group of dogs he will show off a bit. Of course, since he can control the cards, he can call the items back to him at will. He will usually have Corvidea carry them around because it will cause less of a stir among humans. In order to use telekinesis he has to be calm, or he won’t be able to do anything. This causes him to attempt to keep a calm demeanor. And since he will bleed longer than someone should if cut, he will rarely use the cards as weapons (since he is afraid he might cut himself). And, he can see in color.
The Black Cards are thought to have magical powers, at least by The Corgi. Before he does anything dangerous or sometimes when he gambles (if Corvidea isn’t around), he will draw a card from the deck. A black card means either good luck or a neutral outcome. However, if the red ace is drawn, it means he will die or be hurt badly. As stated on the ref, the chance of drawing the red card is low, so when it is drawn The Corgi takes it as a sign.
Reference for the Black Cards (couldn't include them in the ref... would make it too cluttered) [link]
Strengths: He has a decent speed for a corgi, and strong jaws.
Weaknesses: The Corgi cannot jump very high, or even use his claws very well due to his short arms. He needs glasses to see (is developing PRA). If he is injured he will bleed longer than he should. Loud noises will make him go deaf for 15 seconds (for instance if he's close to a fire cracker going off).
Personality: The Corgi likes to think he’s mysterious and a purebred corgi (when it’s obvious he’s not). Although he can get some leeway for his name. He is usually composed, and smiling when he’s doing card tricks. The Corgi is superstitious to the point of it being a mental weakness. Corvidea takes advantage of this, which is how the bird can use The Corgi to get things for her. In fact, The Corgi sees Corvidea as a demi-god with the ability to predict the future (the bird has no such abilities) and thinks her abilities have a connection with the Black Cards. The Corgi actually will ask Corvidea if he will win when the two are out gambling, or consult the cards. Corvidea carries the cards around when he’s not using them. The Corgi will not let the cards out of his sight for more than a minute.
He also likes his privacy, and his idea of privacy is no one else being around himself and Corvidea. The Corgi is semi-talkative, but Corvidea talks the most out of the two. It’s easy to sense the tension from their banter, that can crossover into just plain mean. Others around them have a hard time figuring out if the two are playing around. Though, they rarely are “kidding around”, they have a strange friendship. The only thing tying the two together is what they think they can gain from each other.
History: The Corgi and Corvidea were with a traveling theatre and were left behind. Since dogs are a dime a dozen, the troupe just went on and trained another dog (this time a purebred corgi) to do The Corgi’s act. The humans had no idea about The Corgi’s abilities with the Black Cards, since he doesn’t do card tricks in front of humans. Thus they thought he was just a regular dog. The two have just been wandering around for the past few years.
Likes: Gambling, Card Tricks (he's awful at them most of the time), Sea Food, The Theatre, Movies, Salad, Cheeses, and Mushroom Steaks, Music (wants to learn the Tuba... it's his life dream)
Dislikes: Walking a lot, loosing his cards, loosing a bet, and having to fight physically (he is physically weak and wins most fights by outsmarting his opponent). He especially hates it if someone points out that he’s not a purebred corgi. He is apparently in denial, and thinks his curled tail and extra fur on his front and back legs are normal for a corgi. And, lastly, Cigarette and/or Cigar Smoke
Other: Corvidea is The Corgi’s best friend, and can convince him to do just about anything she wants. By making vague predictions, she creates the illusion of being psychic. The two have a shaky relationship, but The Corgi is very superstitious and obsessed with knowing the future. He uses Corvidea to interpret anything he thinks might be an omen. To others she has a welcoming personality, and willing to help others as long as she can gain something from it. While she can carry the deck around, the owl will take a rest here and there. She can usually fly a good distance before resting. Also, if the two fight, The Corgi usually apologizes first, frantically saying "Wait, come back, I love yoooooou!". During a fight, when he hurts his opponent he'll also frantically apologize.
=======================================
Corvidea Ref:
Quick owl sketch ref.
Name: Corvidea
Breed Base:Great Horned Owl
Age: ?
Gender: Female
Strengths: Strong and silent flyer
Weaknesses: If she's lifting more than twice her weight (that is the maximum a Great Horned Owl can lift, I believe), she will not be as fast of a flyer.
Personality: She is almost always wearing a knowing smile, and is cheery. Corvidea does not like getting her hands (talons?) dirty (figuratively, of course, she is quite the physical fighter and doesn't mind spots of crimson on her light grey feathers). She will try to get The Corgi to do whatever task for her, which usually involves stealing something she wants. The two are almost on the same intellectual level, but most of the time she can get The Corgi to do almost any venture for her. She will get him to use his abilities if she needs them to acquire her goal. It may seem she doesn't care for her companion, but she does..in some deep and twisted way only she can comprehend. Even The Corgi, however clingy to her he can be, keeps his distance from her after they've had a fight.
History: The Corgi and Corvidea were with a traveling theatre and magic show and were left behind. The owl was trained to do some tricks, but the star of the show was The Corgi. This didn't bother her, though. She was more keen on just making a living, than impressing people.
Likes: Flying, puzzles, theatre, reading about history,
Dislikes: Cell phones, anything sold with an "As Seen on TV" Label, crows and ravens.
Other: She has a strong dislike for ravens and crows. The Corgi has asked her once (even probing about her name), but she snapped at him, and scared him enough for him to ever ask again. If she sees one of the birds she will keep her distance, however if the bird comes too close she will fight it. There has been instances where The Corgi will interfere, to break her away from the fight, but he will get deep cuts that will take a while to heal. Corvidea has very basic medical knowledge (learned from watching humans), and she can stop the bleeding after a few minutes. On top of that, she'll only help him if she feels like it.

The cards just get sharp. Although they usually don't cut too deep.

Alright, here's our review.
First of all, while blue-tick coats are allowed, you may want to simplify his somewhat. There are a lot of very precisely shaped spots all over his body and it's not really fair to ask your opponent to draw that many markings over and over again in panel after panel of their comics.
His weaknesses state that he has a heart condition, but there are lots of different heart conditions. What is his condition exactly? What are the symptoms of it? Also, you list him not being able to use his cards in a panic as a weakness, but this is actually a limitation on his power, so it goes under "ability" not weaknesses.
Finally, you say that Corvidea carries his cards but that seems kind of illogical; how can a bird carry an entire deck of cards and still be able to fly? Birds have hollow bones specifically because they need reduced weight to be able to defy gravity, so carrying all those cards would be a near impossibility.

Alright, this looks good. The only thing we still need is an organized info sheet for Corvidae. Since she wouldn't be fighting you don't need all the information on abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, but we'd appreciate if you could fill out the rest for the benefit of your opponents. This will help them to portray her character more accurately.

We'd just like to clarify, since you state Corvidea is "quite the physical fighter and doesn't mind spots of crimson on her light grey feathers" that she is not allowed to actually help The Corgi fight. She can watch or cheer him on, but not actually get into the fray herself.
However, your ref looks good otherwise and we'll invite it to the group now. We look forward to your audition!

Yes, I'm aware of that. I meant when she's fighting other birds. Sorry for not clarifying!
And thank you!
