Kaeden finally has a reference sheet! YAY!!!!I felt like drawing a deer so I decided to draw Kaeden.
I made him early August last year on iScribble, so some of you may recognize him. Changed his design slightly.
Name: Kaeden
Pronunciation: [Kay-den]
Age: 20 (in human years)
Species: White tailed deer
Preference: bisexual
Birthday: February 6th
Significant Other: none
Height: 36 inches at the shoulder
Weight: 186 lbs
Personality: Shy, nervous, clumsy, quiet, submissive, gullible, sickly, weak, often picked on by other deer (especially his brother Duke)
Likes: solitude, birds, small animals like rabbits or squirrels, meadows, flowers, willow trees.
Dislikes: bugs, getting picked on (even though he doesn't do anything to stop it)
Other: His best friend is Travis
I'll add more later on when I think of something...

Wow! I love the design, but it seems there are a few things anatomically wise that could be changed.
First off, the body is too short. Even though the body is compact on a deer, it's not nearly so:[link]
The short body you've given this buck makes his legs appear unnaturally long.
Secondly, you have the mandible extending too far back. The mandible on a deer actually ends about the point their ears begin, relatively. The deer has a very triangular skull, and when you extend the lower jaw as far as that you give it a caninish look:[link]
Lastly, the neck on this buck is too thick. Deers are noted for their wispy necks, and towards the head they thin out. This is taken to a greater degree in the fall when deer breed, when bucks neck swell (this gives a buck a regal look) and they shed their velvet to reveal a sharp pair of antlers. If your are going to have your buck have such a healthy pair of antlers, he should probably have a swollen neck to boot: in breeding season [link] (normal, although this is a doe so she lacks antler buds)

I would never steal someone's design. I do remember seeing that character though, but it was way after creating my Kaeden (since I created him August 8th 2008 according to iScribble). |D

Haha. Look at photos of deer and do a few sketches to get their basic shape down. Tis what I did. I also have an "drawing animals" book that I was using.
