Notes about Fragon from our Creative Design files:

Body concept: Fragon was originally a homework assignment posed by one of our college professors that intended on us to design and draw a reptilian type animal. Fragon himself was a result of one of the less detailed drawings that were just preliminary (the actual homework assignment was required to be WAY more detailed and less cartoony). Putting that as the basis for Fragon's body design and combining it with general designs for Asian Dragons, Fragon was made as the Flagship Alien for the Legend of Ben 10 fan fic crossover which crossed over with Avatar. It felt right to use Fragon for this as Avatar is essentially an Asian type world, and a chinese dragon would make perfect sense. Also it was tough to use the Map Maker Dragon as a transformation due to the fact that coming up with a good name that just means "This is a dragon" while also being a clever pun like most Ben 10 alien names, was near IMPOSSIBLE. Even the name Raygon was too vague to be really good at all (To be honest, we feel Snare-oh is in the same boat.)

Etymology: Fragon's name is simply a combination of Frag meaning a fragmentary grenade or bomb and Dragon.

Species Etymology: Incendiowyvern is a combination of Incendiary, which is a type of self igniting explosive used mostly associated with starting fires or self ignition, and the word Wyvern which usually refers to a type of winged dragon with two legs that rarely breathes fire and an arrow pointed tail, though they do on occasion in certain media. Originally the name was to be Incendiodrake, but it didn't sound as cool or "sciencey"

How Powerful is Fragon as a battle oriented alien?:

We don't like to make assumptions about aliens being more powerful than another one unless its blatantly obvious like Atomix, Way Big, or the Ultimate Aliens, as many aliens are applicable in differing ways to different battle scenarios. Fragon is definitely not up there with the Huge Ones, but he is definitely one of the Near Top powerful ones like Swampfire, Humungousaur due to his myriad of predatory adaptations designed to hunt prey far larger and more powerful than a single Incendiowyvern, namely the Slammoid (Slamworm).

Super strength wise, Fragon is stronger than Swampfire but weaker than Chromastone, able to deal quite a whallop with his tail. When combining body length with height overall he is larger than Base size Humungousaur. However, due to his body design, his strength isn't really that useful for melee combat and is mostly good for tail club attacks, or constricting his foe like a python, as well as moving abnormally fast for his size, his appearance while climbing and running on all fours being comparable to an extra large ChamAlien.

Most of Fragon's combat strength comes from his various bombs, his weakest of which are merely Non-heat based Force Bombs that use pure kinetic force take out weaker opponents non-lethally, and the strongest of which are high power armor piercing bombs with shrapnel hard enough to pierce Diamondhead's skin. Also, Fragon's jaw muscles are immensely powerful, with incredibly durable teeth as a result of Fragon's Dirt Earthworm-like digging, causing Ben to call him the "RipJaws but on Land". Fragon's jaws are strong enough crush a block of solid steel and dig through the hardest minerals.

Utility.

Due to the various bombs Fragon can use, from heat seeking flying bombs, to land mines, all of them with varying power depending on what the alien wants, and all capable of self detonating using Fragon's unique brainwave signals over vast distances, or using pressure plates for traps, Fragon has immense utility when it comes to defeating enemies specifically. Other uses, such as affecting technology, space survival, immunity to certain elements, etc. etc. is rather limited due to Fragon's mainly bomb oriented power. Fragon can also spit out bombs on the fly which immediately detonate on impact, as well as let loose explosions inside his mouth before letting the pressure loose as an explosion heat breath, giving him active combat ability that is at least the same level as Swampfire and other aliens that can instantly fight on the fly, and above others who are more limited like Upgrade whose only means of combat without technology present is an eye laser.

Fragon does have travel utility that is less capable than XLR8 or Jetray due to his high speed burrowing that can burrow even through high density minerals, however it is notable that Armodrillo, who is also from the same planet, can do the same thing. Durability wise however, while Fragon can still be harmed by strong enough impacts, especially from super strength based aliens, his body possesses heat resistance and impact resistance mainly to assist him in tanking accidental close range explosions from his own bombs, and he is capable of swallowing pure magma without so much as a stomach ache. Fragon is so heat resistant in fact that he is immune to Pyronites, and can wade in pure magma if he wishes. He still can be injured by the force of his own bombs however if he uses his most powerful explosives too close to his body.

Is Ultimate Fragon bigger than Way Big?

No.

If Way Big were the size of a human, Ultimate Fragon would be the size of the python you could hold over the back of your neck. neck and wear like a scarf.

And Ultimate Fragon might be the second biggest ultimate just above Ultimate Gravattack and just below Ultimate Way Big, he is not the strongest even amongst the canon ones. We are not in the business of making Mary Sue Aliens.
