Correction, the Spyro that you're reffering to exists in a separate series as well as how you think he wouldn't be interested, when he showed alot of interest in the kiss that Elora gave him in the second game as well as how he stopped complaining about love and just sat with Elora while watching the fireworks.
Plus this was all made with good fun and humor and shouldn't be used to glorify how Spyro is "better" off with Cynder.
