Description
Just finished this little guy, and I'm very quite happy with how he turned out! (mostly) (It's so soft!)Also, apparently he can stand up, which is an unexpected bonus for a stuffed animal with only two legs. (The abdomen helps.)
if you would like to use the pattern for some reason, it's right here: sta.sh/06vpq78v6g3
ALSO, Cryptic instructions: sta.sh/21lvwfrzqhh2
This guy was surprisingly difficult to sew! All the fancy patterns on his FOUR wings, coupled with the fact that I made his head way too small at first, and that NECK
yeah I need to figure out a better method of sewing necks
Moths are wonderful and fluffy.
designed and sewn by hand by me!
Leif belongs to Moonsprout Games and he's awesome.

Did you draw the pattern and make this by yourself?

Did you sew Leif and Rari by hand or sewing machine or both?

MischeviousMalfais In reply to nightsfangirl23 [2020-04-30 04:18:22 +0000 UTC]
I did them all by hand, I find sewing machines frustrating and hard to sew small details
That said, they are more uniform and don't get tied into nonsense knots every time I make ten stitches. XD

Oh hey! This is pretty cool.
My sister attempted plush making before and somewhat succeeded. Looks like a fun little skill. And a great way to make your own merch^^
It would be ironic if it ended up eaten by moths.

Thanks!
Yeah I'm very glad I have this skill because it means I can make better stuffed animals than big franchises ever could (hopefully)
AND they can be whatever I want!
Like seriously, there's no way anyone is ever going to make an official moth plush for a game that already isn't that popular even though it's amazing.
After the next 5 orders I have coming up (from me and my little brother) I'll probably make some Kirby ones too, like of Mag or Blade (ironically the only people on the queue who haven't been asked a single question yet XD)
What kind of plush did your sister try and make? I could halfway give her some tips
It's actually the moth larvae that are destructive, apparently
But Leif's appetite is pretty destructive, too.

Well, ya never know it depends on if the indie game gets big enough if it gets merchandise.
Some don't.
Have fun with those heh. Mag posts too many details of his life already for anyone to care.
It was a robot dinosaur, a dinobot if you will. Though that probably doesn't change anything about the goal still the same triceratops shape.XD She made the body lankier than she wanted though it still came out cool. Sweet of you to offer! I asked her why she hasn't tried anything else she said that it was something she would need to practice at to get better but she's not interested in taking the time.
Most skills can come overtime with practice. Just depends on which you want to develop. Though video game speedrunners have a frightening amount of precision it looks un human.

Oh yes I totally understand!
I've tried things like quilt making before but it's not really my thing
I find it much more rewarding to get a cute little stuffed animal afterwards than to get a smelly ol' blanket or something.
Yes this is true
Mag does already post a lot
even in other people's answers XD
All my old stuffed animals were too skinny (I made a pig that looked like a starved ardvaark: out of felt. Bad idea.) the key is to think of it like a 3d model, possibly even sculpt what you want to make beforehand so you get a feel for what it'll be like when it's stuffed.
The other thing that helps is actually marking your pattern on the fabric itself and sewing along the lines so you don't end up way off track (this is hard with fluffy fabric so I always have to use paint. )
Yup. Video game speed runners.
those are cool
but I'd way rather make my own video game. XD

I make lots of plushies! (no, I didn't start at this level. There's a learning curve.) Usually they're normal animals, But I really liked how this turned out and just had to share.
I'm going to make more Bug Fables plushies and probably some Kirby ones now that I have more colors of fabric.
