Commission #4 for the amazing !Commission Request: So this one will have Claur and Anduin pretty much doing the same thing, they're together in the image but not actually -in- the same place. They'd be back to back, looking up at the starry night sky, Claurice looks pretty banged up, her robes are tattered, ripped up all the way to her hip on one side. Her leg's been bitten by a snake, so there's a seeping wound in her lower calf muscle of whichever leg is facing the viewer. She is sitting somewhere in the middle of the Krasarang Wilds.
Anduin isn't in much better shape, his clothes look wrecked, he's bruised up a bit and he's sitting in the middle of the Horde Camp in Jade Forest. Claurice's facial expression is pained from not just her wound, but the weighing fact she'd failed in protecting her charge.
Anduin's expression is a mixture of solemn and worried.

Well if you're paid for fine work like this - and it is very well done - it probably counts as being hired.
Do people pay each other with stuff like Amazon gift cards or is it something done for friends? Like an artwork exchange? And is stuff like this drawn by hand and then scanned or is there software that makes it easier? Sorry for all the qs!

Sorry for the delay, and no worries! Questions are never a problem. The exchange between the artist and the commissioner is up to the two of them and can really range from in-game currency to real money and everything in between, if they're both in agreement. Much like any other exchange.
I used to draw lines by hand then digitally ink them on the computer, but now it's all digital for me. And as far as programs go, the most popular programs seem to be Photoshop, SAI, Manga Studio and Gimp (free software).

The dynamic between the two is that they -do- have feelings for each other, and they will eventually be together, but at the present time of the image here, no, they're just childhood friends.
