Description This was supposed to be the kiriban for 3k hit, then it became 3.5k hit, then 4k hit, and now it's officially 4989 hit.

Fire is probably one of the most complex objects I've drawn so far, and since I had decided to use no effects or other tools whatsoever beside digital brushes and eraser, the process was literally painful. But transferring the beauty and dynamic nature of a living flame into static drawing was indeed interesting.

I painted it using default hard and soft opacity brushes. It's prolly neat just because I take my time doing each work; I believe painting is a leisure and must be done without pressure (that's why my gallery's so empty LOL). I usually use black-and-whites for the first colors to determine value more clearly--colors would then be added using colorize. Choosing the palette comes much later as I adjust colors according to how they interact with each other and what mood I'm trying to suggest.
