Description This is an airplane I made in Maya for my Surface, lighting, and shader class. Getting the texture to look right on the plane seem to take forever.

Thanks! Most 3D programs are easy to learn. Illustration and 3-D media are good fields to study in and there are a lot of job opportunities for it, Like I am moving to Atlanta, GA since there is a lot of job opening there. Hopefully I get a job of my field soon.

Amazing. The background is really good and the perspective is nice!

Thanks! The texture was a bit tricky on this one. And I had fun with choosing an angle for this one in Maya.

very nice job. except for those trees. it does not fit nicely, even if it's "low flyer". I suppose it's HDRI in environment slot. If so, why didn't you rotated it slightly, so it's out of sight? sorry if I'm wrong. apart from that - great idea!

Thanks! Yeah the trees look odd. It was a quick background so I could hand it in for a grade on time. I need to fix it up a bit more when I have time.

Oh, wow I actually thought it was a real pic of an airplane until i read your description/fullsized! Very realistic.

The backround is a little too plain. Looks too dark in comparison with the airplane.

The shading, on the middle part top center of airplane, is a bit off, there is squaresof color, you cant tell much unless you full size, but when you can tell it makes it look very unnatural.

More shading, the left wing, it isnt shaded lighter like the middle part of plane, the engine is but the rest of the wing is dark, it looks like that some more of the wing should have the light from where the light source is comign from that that wing should have some light on it, As well as the top of the right wing.

Same thing goes for the tail, the left little wing on the tail or the plane looks like it should have some light on it also.

Overall, very realistic, especially since at first I thought it was a real picture of an airplane.

Thanks! I have also notice the texture where the wing meets the plane is also a bit off and the squaresof color on the top are texture errors which I still would like to fix. I am still not the best at lighting so thanks for the tips.

Which program did you use to make this? It does look so real.

Here is the constructive critique you wanted:
This is a very good model. I am taking 3D courses as well and I know how hard it can be mostly do to being time consuming. I think the textures came out pretty good and the plating came out nice. Are the maps layered? I would suggest that add or in the future add abrasion marks due to wear and tear which would add to the realism.

Thanks! I don't remember if I layer the maps in this one since it is an old project I did in college. I like the wear and tear idea.
