Left, Winter 2017
- Weight in the low 60g range, crashing and unable to stay awake and alert
- Round-the-clock feeding, medical and supplemental care given
- Severe muscle atrophy due to prior wing break, unable to even hop a few inches from the ground
- Suffering from frounce with asper on its heels
- All in all, how the heck is this bird still alive

Right, Spring 2018
- Weight 130g+
- Muscled up, flying high and well
- Proven hunter: 40+ mice, a ton of bugs and 2 birds under his belt
- Takes daily baths and happily chitters every single time I approach his perch, oh this release is going to tug at my heart strings 😭 but it is so well deserved, he pulled through the toughest of circumstances

After considerable consultation with multiple people in the field, time spent in thought and deliberation, I have decided that Arrow will be released next week, probably Monday or Tuesday. Thank you so much to fellow falconer and wildlife rehabilitator Meagan D. for allowing me the opportunity to take him on. I learned so much through the experience of flying him, and am so honored to take part in his journey to success. I'll be sure to take photos of the release (if I can catch them! He is quite fast... haha!)

This is my 11th year in falconry and my 7th personal falconry bird, third falcon. A new adventure awaits this fall. A new bird, another season. Opening a new door.
