In Roman mythology,
Ceres was the goddess of agriculture and of motherly love.
the photo of the field was taken from a moving car... as my camera kept telling me my battery was dead... I am glad that I am too stubborn to give up ;]

Gotta say, I love it.
You took that picture from a MOVING car?? I'm impressed.
Love the shade of blue you used for the eyes to match the sky. Gorgeous.

well I was looking at the photo of the field and thought that it would be the perfect photo to create a diptych;
I really do believe that diptychs are nicer when the colours match and I wanted to use my blue eye liner for once -I bought it a few weeks ago and have never really used it, up until now-
about the moving car... yes so was I; I expected it to be a blue and yellow blur. as my little digital camera isn't the best quality and the battery really was dead, which causes it to be stubborn and unable to focus etc... ah well it managed to freeze an image with a shutter speed of 1/1529 of a second; I love my camera x]

I wish I could take such skilled pictures usuing just a digital camera. I'm envious. lol.
I need to practice more. Soon I'll have some great subjects to photograph when I move to Kyoto. lol

it really isn't a matter of skill...
as I truly believe I am not skilled in any way,
but rather a matter of experiments
and shooting things that you aren't used off or precisely that.
the most random things, like a cup for instance, can make the most beautiful pictures.
though I really would love to see some pictures of Kyoto etc
keep me tuned x

I always love diptychs, by combining two completely different photos you create another view and another scene, which is an art on its own... though I do believe it is hard to succeed in making ones that look good. I am glad you like it.
thanks for your kind words

This is amazing in how such simple photos can symbolize so many different things - it's all up to the individual viewing it!

that's why I like diptychs... a photo on its own is great, but if you manage to combine two completely different photos you leave even more space for personal interpretation
thank you x

This is probably a really silly question but I'm quite an amateur photographer/graphics enthusiast - how do you create a diptych?
π: 0 β©: 1
Mischx In reply to blightedstar [2008-08-05 18:13:45 +0000 UTC]
you can put them together in programs as photoshop or paintshop pro.
though it takes quite some time and patience I do believe that you can -with some luck- put them together with paint. but things are just more simple to do in such programs.
it's not a silly question btw ^^
