Description
Alright! Here is my official entry for the [link] (Skin A Scion) contest.I personally am very excited about this entry, just because I put a lot of thought, detail (I hand placed each little bubble.
I wasn't sure if I should be messing with logos and slogans, so I decided not to add any of that in.
I've done 16+ edits to this and have spent literal days working on it. I'm so proud of this deviation. Thank you, all of you, for helping me. I appreciate it so much.
Alright, stock pieces! I used...

I took her out for now to either edit her, or replace her with something else. I haven't yet decided whether or not I like her as she is.

I liked her too, but she just didn't fit in quite as well as I had hoped.

Very nice! You've really achieved the whole underwater effect, which isn't always easy to do. And I really like what you did with that car - I can see why you've always wanted one like that.
Anyway, thank you for using my stock! This is excellent!

Thank you for providing it! Where was the picture taken, if you don't mind my asking? And how!
Thanks for the comment and fave!

The picture was actually taken at the New England Aquarium in Boston. I just took the picture through the glass.
And you're welcome!

:devlauart: said pretty much everything, but and I'll probably repeat her but some possible ideas would be make the pattern on the car stand out more. And as she said I like the idea of the lights being on, that would add a lot. And the last thing I can think of is you may want to get the tires to be lighted or shaded sort of a different colour or whatever so that they stand out from the black in the wheel wells; so it would show the tire go all the way around the rim.
I dunno, but I wish you the best of luck in the contest

That *laurart is a clever cookie.
I like the idea of the lights being on as well...now if I can just figure out how to do that...
I'll try to lighten up the tires a bit, we'll see how it goes. Thanks a lot for the advice, I seriously appreciate it.

It really looks good, so these are just ideas to play around:
* I like the way the size of the car works in the picture, but the decoration gets a little lost, maybe if the car was a little bigger we could see it better, more defined...
Maybe you can cut a bit the sides and the top of the picture in order to make the car look bigger...kind of like a zoom in...or make the hole picture bigger...
*The mermaid: Its beautiful but in relation to the hole picture she might look a bit tiny, maybe if you make her bigger it wouldnt look bad, it could even add more depth to the image, like if she is bigger she could look like she is closer to us than the car...I dont know if this would look good, you could try and see if it works....
*Perhaps you could try adding more elementes...like a few fishes swimming around in the backgroung, or in the front (they would look bigger if they are in the front) of some different colour, to cut a bit all the green from the picture (not too bright though, or they would stand out too much)
Some sea plants, (these wouldnt have too be very defined, to add the effect of blending in the green-blue water)
Heck, you could even put a big whale or a shark instead of a mermaid, just to see how it looks like ...or both...it might look horrible, but its just an option to mess around
* Some details for the car: you could put some lightning effects on the windows and in the tyres, to make them look like they are shinning (you can take some cars pictures for reference if you find it hard to do on your own, its what we all do! )
Weird idea: what if the car has its light on? You know, like its alive and ready to start moving......with the background a bit darker and the car glowing and the lights on it could have a more dramatic feeling....I dont know, maybe it would work, maybe it wouldnt....
Anyway, enough with the talking!, I must be making you really
As I said, all the stated above are just options to mess around, i dont mean them like corrections you SHOUL do, just silly ideas
And remember the most important thing is that you feel comfortable with your picture, its YOURS after all! You can have the best sugestions of the world, but if they dont work for you, then dont change it!
Well, I really wish you the best of luck with this, I really do!

Wow hun, you know I always appreciate your advice. This has been so helpful to me, you don't even know.
I'm still fiddling with this picture of course, and a lot of my not adding certain elements is not finding the right pictures, but I'm working my hardest on making it the best I possibly can. Your ideas are wonderful. I particularly like the idea of the lights on. Now, if I can just implement it!
Thank you so, so very much. You're incredibly helpful!

Whether or not you win,
this is a GORGEOUS piece of artwork!
You've done a wonderful job
and I do hope to see this
as a commercial some day.
I remember the Tiburon commercial
where it was like a shark.
(Tiburon means shark in Spanish)
I thought that was wicked cool
This one would be equally so.
It does look like a treasure,
there on its pedestal,
waiting to be found.
Good luck.
(Can't bring myself to say I hope you win since I hope I win!)

Awesome piece! Are you taking wondrous tips again?
Well, if you are, the car really stands out (Which I think is the point of the piece), but I think if you shaded the white and gray of the car to a bit more a greenish/blueish colour to match the background, it would help add depth and make it seem as if there is a distance of water between the car and the viewer, instead of seeming like the car is a sticker on top.
Also, if you put a few bubbles or green algae plants or fish or something in the upper right and along the bottom, it would add complexity to the piece, since it seems very large but has a feeling of a lot of bare space in it. Or you could shrink the background a bit so that the emphasis is more on the eye is more focused on the mermaid/car instead of the mermaid/car/large empty space.
In any case, still a good piece.

I'm always taking tips.
I thought the car was more bluey/green (or so I've edited it a few times to try and get it that way, ) but maybe it's still kind of faint. I'll fiddle with it a bit more so it's not so stark. Thanks!
You're exactly right about adding a bit more to make it more complex. That was my original plan, but I got so excited when I pieced most of it together, that I went ahead and submitted it.
I'm a little eager about the whole thing. Thank you for reminding me about it.
